OT: Patriots Trade Jimmy Garappolo to 49ers for 2nd Round Pick

Submitted by LS And Play on

The quarterback of the future for the New England Patriots is Tom Brady.

To repeat: 49ers are trading a 2018 2nd-round draft pick for Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo, sources tell ESPN.

This means the Patriots are signing Kaepernick, right? They don't have another QB on IR or the practice squad. They have literally zero QBs on contract besides Brady.

1) Clearly this "Inman" who joined just over a week ago is a banned poster under a new name, but - the join date is the day before the psu game, and isn't that when many were relegated?

2) How far into the red has a new poster gotten in just over a week? What kind of negative number is "Inman" shooting for?

I didn’t invite politics into the discussion anymore than the comment I responded to did. Would Kraft’s name be brought up in a discussion regarding any other player?

I do agree however that politics should be avoided here and I apologize for my Knee-jerk comment.

That's been disproven as false time and time again.

On May 13th Kaepernick told Shannon Sharpe that the reports he was asking for $10M per were false. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk also found these reports to be "Completely False".

On May 16th, Our good friend Tim Kawakami said that all the talk that Kaepernick has been asking for minimum $5M per year was false, and leaking straight from the San Francisco 49ers.

In June, Colin Kaepernick retweeted a tweet saying that reports that salary was the reason he was unsigned was a flatout lie.

Nobody is going to sign him. The guy is an awful distraction, and as a QB he needs to play in a college type spread option system to have any success at all. There have been 15 QB's signed this past offseason for backup roles that are worse than kaepernick, that should tell you all you need to know. Organizations don't want to deal with the media shit storm that will rain down upon them for signing the guy. You or I have a better shot to get signed than Kaepernick.

involves the Pats' desire to win now and in the near future. They see Brady has a couple of good years left in him, and plan to send him out with a bang. They're going to beef up with what they got for Garappolo and develop someone more promising at QB. (Clearly, it's a judgement about him as their QB beoynd Brady.) Kind of an interesting roll of the dice, if I am right, banking on Brady but also improving the team around him.

This is a Good trade for niners. If you don't have an elite qb it is tough to win in NFL. Not saying JG is elite, but maybe he can be and it's definitely better than what they have now.

They only got a second-round pick for him? Seems dirt cheap for a competent quarterback, especially with the current dearth of those in the league. But knowing the Patriots, that pick will turn into the next Brady so it won't matter
