I can report ESPN has removed Pam Ward from its college football coverage.
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
I can report ESPN has removed Pam Ward from its college football coverage.
God has answered a prayer
now get rid of Millen on Michigan games and were set
Spileman is an interesting analyst, and is not biased at all against M despite his roots. In fact, he gets into details that other analysts do not, and is objectively good at what he does.
Spielman was biased as hell and then disappeared from the broadcast once Avery made the interception. Seriously, he said nothing for the rest of the broadcast.
People always say stuff like that, and usually, like you, have nothing concrete to demonstrate it.
She's not exciting, but she's not obnoxious, and I'll take that any day.
I suppose that in order to be truly obnoxious, you must have some degree of competency. The basic question: Was a Pam Ward broadcast unwatchable? The answer is clearly yes.
but she wasn't good. did it bother me that she was a woman? no. did her voice bother me? no. was she good at calling play-by-play? no. and that's why she shouldn't call games
For me, it was her voice mostly. You can't call a football game if your voice is that montone.
So long, Pam. We'll always have 49-3 over Sparty.
#1 - I forgot they scored first and it was 3-0 Sparty
#2 - Those Sparty unis were AWFUL
#3 - Jason Avant made his first career catch in that game and it was very "Avant-like"...best hands at Michigan in the last 15 years...maybe more.
Watch the split screen shot of Marlin Jackson during warmups -- I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's another epic Brady Hoke point at around 34-35 seconds into this clip. (2002 was his last year as an assistant at Michigan.)
I think you are right!
...we still refer to that game as the (Jeff) Smok-A-Bowl...
Or is this simply just an effort by ESPN to improve their CFB coverage?
Somewhere, an angel has received its wings back.
I'll bet it was Tyreal. This move is both wise and just.
This comment very much. Thank you. On that note, what am I doing on here? I have Nightmare level to finish.
Now i might be able to watch a Northwestern game in peace. The time has passed that she would have ever covered another Michigan game regardless.
Hoke Uber Alles
First Urban and now Pam Ward. The World Wide Leader is cleaning up their act. Millen, you're next.
Joe Morgan. Fired in 2011. Gives me hope.
Well, you could give ESPN credit for it, but I'm pretty sure Ohio paying Urban millions of dollars to coach football had something to do with him leaving ESPN. I can't wait to see Pam Ward on the sidelines next year as Tony Gibson's trainee. Learn from the best to be the best!
Or your exile?
Hadn't seen you around, and the mods talked about a "time out" for someone who posted good content in the past, but was being knuckle rapped for making a Ohio decommit-child porn guy joke. (Before Brian made his). Since your post had been deleted from the thread at the same time, and I hadn't seen you around, I thought it was you. The price of cutting edge humor, I guess.
I am so happy about this. I can't stand her voice.
Is it just me, or does this meme make absolutely no sense? Maybe I'm just a slowpoke.
Let's just hope that the BTN doesn't pick her up in a twist of cruel fate.
Oh my God, why did you even bring up that nightmare scenario???????
FU, STFU and GTH!!!

I worked there for a while and sat next to the guy that hired the broadcasters. Trust me, they won't hire Pam Ward. All he did was belittle her ability.
1) Her voice is deeper than mine
2) She had an Adam's apple the size of a grapefruit
3) She had hands as big as Andre the Giant
4) Despite this, I was strangely attacted to her
5) She couldn't get through a game without at least a dozen screw ups.
Other than that...she was OK by me.
Who's going to post the video of her complaining that an injury timeout was taking too long and she said something like "Just get off the field"?

the Ward/Ray Bentley duo was the absolute worst I've ever endured. Pam wasn't nearly as bad as Bentley, though.
i'm crying tears of joy.
Things this good don't just happen.
Sadly however, the joy fan's everywhere initially experienced when Ward's removal from football broadcasts was short-lived as announcement of her new career path was made public.
NOOooooOOOOOOOOooooo!!!! Where will I get my Sexy Voice College Football Fix?
This announcement more directly enhances my enjoyment of Michigan football than a lot of other news posted here.
Denard and Roundtree GIF along with everything it represents never, ever gets old.
I smell a job opening...
I'm already on it.
nothing screams out "it's week 3 and there is exactly one good game all weekend, but it's noon right now and goddammit, i'm going to watch college football all day, so let's get drunk and pretend we care about western michigan at purdue" like hearing pam ward's voice. now how will i know when i've reached the dredges of college football fandom?
Easy. When you hear the words "Sun Belt Conference" it doesn't matter who is saying it.
pretty much sums up my Saturdays during college football seasons. Long, drunk days and awesome, drunk nights. Even better when we win!
Thank God. Best news I'll get all week.
just closing some html </b> nothing to see here
Don't think it worked. The page is totally messed up for me.
P.S. I did some serious sniping on the Canals last night. Shot one guy so many times that he messaged me saying I was a dirty player. Meanwhile, he spent the whole round firing rockets at me trying to blast me out of that crane. Hahaha.
Thank you Jeebus!
So how long before the feminist groups come out en masse, declaring that ESPN is a sexist, male-dominated company, who cares nothing for offering equal opportunity to women?
Not that they would try or that they care.
Thank the good Lord! I love me some college football, but honestly I refuse to watch when she was announcing!
In this case "OT" means "Outstanding Tidings"
Overwhelmingly Tremendous news.
I am as excited to hear this news as I get over a Hello:___ _______ post.
First, Craig James removes himself. Then, ESPN removes Pam Ward. I hope this "2012 is the end" stuff is the load of horse-pucky I think it is, because college football just got a lot better.
Ray Bentley nailed her.
In the course of a few months, ESPN's football coverage will now be minus Craig James and Pam Ward. By default, the quality just went up.
Of course, Pam, to paraphrase one of her own calls, probably should have "taken the sack" a long time ago.
That would be a long fall after such a wonderful high...
And the clouds rolled back, and the pearly gates opened, and The Lord leaned out and looked down upon us and said...
"THERE! ARE YOU SATISFIED??!!"
I know religion talk is a no-no around here, but THANK YOU GOD. My prayers have been asnwered. She made the 2008 and 2009 season even more insufferable if that is even possible.
I have a hard time listening to football out of any womans mouth. This is a step in the right direction. She was the Queen of Turd Burger,.
Thank you Abba Father Lord of hosts!!! I shall break bread tonight and thank thee for all thine blessings.
They don't need Pam Ward now that they have Beth Mowins. Those of you reacting with glee, remember that.
Watch she's probably gonna sue claiming sexism, that she got discriminated against because she's a woman. And she'll get a huge settlement out of it because that's just how lame our society is.
Has gotten so many posts. Pam, you were loved. (If by love, I meant "detested").
Though I'm just posting because of the cool formatting issues this thread has...
