OT- Packers unveil new alternate uni
http://www.packers.com/multimedia/photo_galleries/recent/2010-03-12b/
I'm a Packer fan, but I have to say that I'm not particularly impressed. It could be worse (Denver's throwbacks anyone?) but I would have like to see something more along the lines of the throwback in Madden 10.
Thoughts?
At least the numbers are easily identifiable.

Worst alternate uni ever. way worse then the lions black jerseys ( and those sucked)

I cannot tell you how much I hate the Lions' Black Jerseys (and that they added black at all). But those Packers throwbacks make the Lions Black jerseys look good. I never thought that would be possible (In fairness, I said the same thing about Denvers' retros from this past year...I really do not know which is worse)

but I thought that the Lions black jerseys aren't that bad.
I HATE the Pack, but without any bias I can say that those are horrendous.
Same situation here. The Packers are probably my least favorite team, but regardless of that bias, I can tell they are horrible.
1932 was a great year and all, but I'm hoping more teams stick with uniforms styles from the '50s and beyond.
LOL. Green Bay Gold Doubloons
...is a 1929 uni throwback.
Here's the throwback...
Here's what they're emulating...
They had to increase the size of the number to conform to NFL uniform regs.
The brown helmet is supposed to harken back to old style leather helmets which is pretty cool, I suppose. It would have been cooler if in 1929 someone from the Packers had thought to paint the helmet's "wings", but that innovation was still a few years in the future.

These jerseys are from a time when the main export from Wisconsin was fudge, not cheese.
anyone?,
Those are in two words, mother fugly.
considering I really dislike their Green/Yellow color scheme. As nice as blue and yellow go together on a football jersey, outside of the bastardized Chargers and Rams jerseys, it's horribly underrepresented in the NFL. The pants don't bother me because they're just a neutral color, but the helmet might look bad, especially in a primetime night game, which is when I assume they'll unveil these
I think Maize jerseys would RAWK for the OSU game.
/shoots self
I am not a Packers fan, but I have to say that I actually really like them. I could do without the brown helmet but the jersey is pretty cool.

and other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?
remind me of pogs. I'll just use a slammer to collect their number

...are no longer the worst ever!

I live an hour from Wisconsin and I can't stand the damn Pack. They have some pretty obnoxious fans and they whine like crazy when any little thing goes wrong with their precious Pack. I also hate the way they treated Favre. That being said, these uniforms are hideous. The color or the pants is terrible. The throwback unis they've worn on Thanksgiving are much better than these IMO.

The U.P. is Packer territory. I'm originally from Escanaba and have been to few games at Lambeau. I'll normally back another Yooper's play, but I think you are dead wrong about the fan base.
They are pretty obnoxious and whine like crazy. Wait...what was the third thing?
The fan base is fanatical, but very down to earth and not hostile to visitors (in my experience). No one treats the beer guy with as much reverence as Packer fans. No one tailgates as well as Packer fans. I think Packer fans set the standard.
These unis suck.
Born and raised a Packer fan and even I can say that these jerseys are terrible. DON'T MESS WITH PERFECTION!

At least Chuck will be back to his true colors.

... but I don't mind them. Numbers a little big, but otherwise, I like the colors.

I second the UP as being Packer territory.
Lay in Ann Arbor now but my heart will always be up north and with the pack!
Ditto that.
Worst part of being at Michigan? Can't get the Packer game half the time. Sometimes I wish I was back home in Marquette

Buffalo Wild Wings on State has every game every sunday. I watched many a Bears game there.... it sucks that the other NFC north games aren't shown when the lions are blacked out.
The best part of being in AA is that when your team plays the lions, you can go to the game. Bears at Lions was a lot of fun, Ford Field is a real nice place to watch a game
I'm a huge Packers fan and I am DISGUSTED. What the fuck are we now Notre Dame's pro team or something? Good god that is aweful.
Except for the helmet. They tried to make it simulate one of those old time leatherheads and failed pretty bad.
Other than that, I love it. The colors themselves match up great. The bullseye number looks even better compared to the actual old uniform since it's larger and gives the jersey a unique charm. And I just love the simplicity of the jersey. No TV numbers or any other nonsense to clutter it up. Just some navy and a yellow bullseye.
I think they should wear Maize Rage jerseys and play in night games while blasting lots of RAWK music, but that's just one man's opinion.
....because I am a Lions fan in Delta County. Regardless of what I feel about the Pack, you gotta respect the love and admiration their fans have for their team.

I was just funnin'. Everyone up there has that one cousin, uncle, or grandfather they'd like to disown who is a Lions fan. They get it pretty good at family gatherings.

Dont mind the jersey. Don't like the brown helmet.
I agree with you on how they should try to make the Madden throw backs into the real thing. I always wear the sweet throw backs.
