Can someone please explain to me the benefits of having 4, 16-team conferences?  Other than a four team BCS playoff-type system.

Also, cue up the "TEXAS AND NOTRE DAME TO B10" rumors.

What were they wrong about? They nailed the PAC16 attempt...NU leaving for the big ten...They got that. All I am saying is that we the most powerful power broker in UT is channeling info through OBs, then you need to pay attention bc if you can read thru the lines, you got yourself a story

Here's one example:

There is no truth to reports that Texas A&M will join the SEC in the spring of 2012. None. #A&M #Aggies#big12 #cfb

For all the Aggies wondering who my sources are on this, they are sources at the highest level of your school.

Best part of the article;

"Colorado made the move in June 2010, but when Texas A&M was not on board to go west, the Big 12 came back together with the help of its television partners (ABC/ESPN and Fox)."

Talk about spin.  Like anyone outside of Austin actually thinks it was not Texas pulling the strings last year.

That's actually accurate.  Texas thought the Big XII was too far gone to save and was ready to jump at the Pac-12's offer.  A&M balked when the Big XII offered to essentially pay OU, Texas and A&M before the other 7 schools (guaranteeing them $20 million each with some fuzzy math).

Won't this have to all be put on hold until Baylor finishes their lawsuit?  Pretty sure the only thing that keeping them from sueing was if OU promised to stay.

I think Texas should just buy up the MWC and turn it into a sham conference so they keep doing whatever the hell they want.

Since they applied to join th PAC-12, has anyone heard of anything regarding Texas and ND appoaching the B1G? They were talking about it on the radio here in Columbus last week saying that the two schools approached the B1G to talk about joining the conference with Texas possibly joing when the Big 12 dies and ND joing in 2014.

Wow, well, perhaps people on message boards sometimes like to make references to the fact that they're trying to think, but 2 letters is far easier than a paragraph describing a thought process.

The odd thing is that this comes out on the heels of the Pac-12 commish saying he isn't interested in  expansion and hopes every conference sticks at 12.

So lying and really had back room meetings with these two schools or they're trying to call his bluff?  Certainly will be interesting to see what he says next.

Meanwhile, Delaney made similar comments but if UT calls him I think he answers the call.  No way UT would sit around in a conference with no A&M, OU, or Okla St having already lost Nebraska and Colorado.  I get dominating the conference, but that runs the risk of the Big 12 losing their automatic bid.  The stuff they would have to peice together would give them a strength of schedule less weaker than the Mountain West in recent years, even worse than the Big East.
