OT - OSU OG and former 4* recruit Demetrius Knox out for season with broken foot

Submitted by BoFlex on

Beaten out by true freshman Michael Jordan for the starting LG position, but currently listed at the first OG off the bench. Could be a relatively big loss since their coaching staff has repeated said their OL has thin depth beyond the starters.

IIRC, so far they've lost WR KJ Hill, WR Corey Smith, LB Justin Hillard and now OG Demetrius Knox. It seems like the injury bug is hitting them relatively hard in Columbus this year compared to years past.

You know, all this talk about Urban getting HJs makes me think... I'll bet he is an HJ guy, instead of a BJ guy or a sex guy. HJs are a lot less personal, and require less emotional commitment. You can kind of just sit there. Hell, you can read a magazine during it. But with a BJ or sex, you have to make at least SOME noise expressing pleasure. And I'll bet Urban is too emotionally closed-off for all that. I think he is dead on the inside, and prefers to keep his emotional content to a bare minimum.

Sorry, I may have thought about this too much...

we do against Wisconsin first. I hate Meyer, but have to admit he's a hell of a coach and has been crushing it at OSU since the day he arrived. Not sure people on the board are lining up to give him a handjob, but give credit where credit is due.

I assume you mean only from the perspective of a coach that wins football games?  We can all agree on that one.

As far as character, the criminals he let run around on campus at UF, messing with the coeds, using "health problems" as a crutch to get out when the going got tough (Saban), and general aura of sleeze, I don't think I can respect the entirety of the man.  Even if it was all due to "mentall illness."

always wondered what led Jordan to commit to OSU... from everything i saw on the twitters during his recruitment he was going to take his time with the process and then all of a sudden he commits to OSU...

OSU had a much longer relationship with him since it was Harbaugh's first year.  Plus, there may have been a bit of pressure to commit due to limited spots and other players with committable offers.

An uptick in injuries this year, both in the pros and NCAA. A friend theorized it's due to the increasing violence of the sport paired with players getting bigger and stronger, and using their bodies as weapons moreso these days (he has a decade on me and claims it's gotten worse over time).

Regardless, half my fantasy starters are straight up on the IR, so that's annoying.

I haven't seen any data to support our assumptions, but I agree with you. Especially considering they used to play football on cement covered with a thin layer of carpet. My buddy thinks it's due to the fact players don't seem to have any downtime anymore. They are constantly training and conditioning.
