the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
OT: Oscars Open Thread
that's not all of the avengers. Where's Scarlett Jo?
probably filming Thor 2.
The pictures coming from production look awesome.
Very true.
Big year for comic book movies, too: Thor 2, Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, Man of Steel...I suppose Sin City 2, to a certain extent, as well
"Welllllllll..."
Hey edger winter is crying on stage

especially with the Jaws theme. Best STFU song ever.
That's actually probably going to be the most controversial part of the night. There's a huge VFX protest going on because of the industry's increasing reliance on VFX and decreasing compensation for VFX companies. Basically, tons of VFX houses are going bankrupt despite the industry relying on them more and more, including the company that just won the Oscar for visual effects. So it seems really crass that the guy was about to bring up the fact that the Oscar winning company was no more, only to get cut off.
I don't think that's why they cut him off, but it's going to cause something of a hubbub tomorrow, probably.
Biffed the big point one.
Edit: and my first one wrong after the first pick....Innocente. Had Mondays at Racine. Oh, well.

It's pretty bad that I could name every movie each of those clips was taken from... I may have an addiction (and a box set of every pre 2008 Bond film on VCR)
Go Blue. Greetings from SEC country.
This is the Oscars with James Bond!

I was hoping they would have brought all the actors who have portrayed James Bond on stage. That would have been cool and considering that a couple of those guys are getting up there in age, there won't be another opportunity like this again.
Overall, given all the hype they threw at honoring 50 years of James Bond, the tribute came up short for me.
"...what do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"
"Fix the cigarette lighter."
Could have done so much more with the Bond tribute. Should have shelled out for all the available bond-theme singers to do a medley.
*sigh* Silver Linings Playbook doesn't stand a damn chance
"All I've had today is, like, six gummy bears and some scotch"
Was Jennifer Garner crying?
The state pays for it, it is
Still bitter about being voted off American Idol.
Then Garner has been weepy all night, with her hubby's film probably winning best picture.

damn, Shows over. Hudson just set the stage on fire with her diva level performance.
All these musicals...so much subtext...
"Welllllllll..."
when she was eliminated.

yeah, probably shouldn't have ended with One Day More after Jennifer Hudson.
Woah, never seen a tie for an Oscar before.
CoE Class of 2007
How can you have a tie?? And how could I have picked neither?!?

I am going to use the Jaws theme in my classroom to get my students to STFU.
I think MacFarlane is hilarious. His John Wilkes Booth joke was funny as hell, and not one person laughed.
Kinda irked Paul Thomas Anderson isn't nominated for best director for The Master, and surprised The Master isn't nominated for best pic.

Anne Hathaway does not look good with short hair.
"But in the tire fire that was last year's secondary he showed a little spark." - Brian Cook
Sally Fields shoulda won Best Supporting Actress.

Also how the fuck do you have a tie with an awards show?

You have got to be kidding me, Argo was not Oscar worthy in any way, shape or form
"All I've had today is, like, six gummy bears and some scotch"
It was a decently entertaining movie that stretched or fabricated the true story it was based on. I'm not sure how in the world it beats out any of those others for best editing, or how it got a best pic nod over The Master.
"All I've had today is, like, six gummy bears and some scotch"
Don't allow that bitterness to distort Argo's worth. It was a great flick. Not as good as Silver Linings Playbook, but still very good.
Better than Django.

Early on I was unnecessarily dicky to you in one of your early posts overblowing one thing you said for no reason. So I wasn't offended, just curious it wasn't one of the guys who said "WHY?!"
