OT: One beautiful quote by Wojo
Today's Wojo column in the Detroit News is about the MSU - ND game.

However, he couldn't resist a little, Little Brother trash talking. To wit:
I like it when Wojo stokes up the fires of resentment in East Lansing. No better place, I always say.Michigan State's Kirk Cousins has been billed as, possibly, the best quarterback in the Big Ten who actually ties his shoelaces. Always eager to keep up with their brotherly neighbors, the Spartans sent word to the national media Cousins often runs around with his chinstrap unbuckled.

<3 Wojo. Seriously. It's nice to have at least one true supporter in the MSM.

This made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.

I personally want the rest of the msm to stay in states corner until, idk the second Sunday in october post hurricane denard

That's pretty funny. Dantonio's ears will be steaming. Watch the MSM slowly but inevitably start to turn in our favor now.

That's what makes the MSU job so thankless. You come in and do pretty well, you have an adoring fan base to the point of fawning, the media gives you a free ride more or less, you beat your biggest rival a couple years while they are 40 year down (as you should), you nab a few name recruits and you host a national program in prime time.
BUT
You are still probably losing ground and the second biggest story in your own state.
But remember MSU knew what they were getting and could have spent the money to get a big time difference maker. They went cheap and safe. How it ends up over 5 to 10 years is how it ends up.

Can you imagine what would happen if Nard Dog didn't buckle his chin strap. He would run right out of his helmet, and those dreads would be unrestrained, shooting straight back like that giant flame thingy out of a jet engine. Then we would have that huge gleaming grin to deal with as he sprints past fools in green, red, etc - you could see that from space.
Oh, the humanity. Keep it strapped, 16!
EDIT - one of you MS Painters is going to want to get on this.

Either I'm getting old or just cranky this morning but I hate the "Nard Dog" reference when talking about Denard Robinson.

Maybe it's because you don't watch The Office? Andy Bernard is easily my favorite character on that show.

LOL. Is that seriously what MSU came up with or is that hyperbole by the writer? Either way, it's pure Sparty lunacy!

In Angelique's chat yesterday, someone asked if Wojo could fit in the new press box at Michigan Stadium and she joked, "His body or his ego?" Hey-Ohhhh!

Thanks for posting...that Wojo is so clever!

I think Wojo's absence from the air space is probably due to a non-compete clause in his WDFN contract but the fact Drew Sharp, Terry Foster and Mitch Albom are on the air and not Wojo really grinds my gears. The Detroit sports scene is filled with hack sports columnists/radio show hosts and our one truly entertaining and thoughtful media member is the one we get the least of!

I came here to post that article. I never realized Wojo had such a great sense of humor. The one liners in the main part of the article are great.

Oh yes. Wojo can be hilarious. His weekly preview column (usually either on Thursday or Friday) is not to be missed.

To be fair, Wojo snarks at UM, too... but I respect him because he doesn't play favorites and he's usually funny about it. Easily the best sports columnist in Detroit, although that's not saying much.

No one cares about Kirk Cousins, that's why he wasn't even listed in the Big Tens best quarterback debate.
