OT: OL Jake Fruhmorgen Leaves Florida
In a bizarre development, former Clemson OL Jake Fruhmorgen is now also former Florida OL Jake Fruhmorgen. Michigan was considered a possible destination for him when he transferred earlier this year. Oddly, Naked Shark Guy just officially welcomed him earlier this week. Apparently, Fruhmorgen is quitting football. Not sure what happened here, but best of luck to Jake.
Best of luck to him.
"Is the coach a shark fucker?"
This should always be on your list of questions to ask before you commit to a program.
Why does this even need to be said?
he has been thinking about leaving football, but thought maybe a change of scenery would be good for him. Got to Florida and started working out and realized no I really don't want to play the game anymore. Why do you feel it has to be some serious issue with the kid.
He's played the game a long time, many players come to this conclusion and walk away and move on with their lives. Don't think he really wasted anyones time and I would be willing to bet Florida doesn't feel like it was a waste.
That answer is simple! Because, who doesn't love football !?
I mean you can speculate all you want, but all the Florida insiders are saying that he's got some pretty serious mental health issues going on right now. He's stepping away from football and school at least for the time being.
He was an undergrad transfer anyways, so he was going to have to sit out this year regardless. Seems like a good time to get one's head straight.
Dabo Swinney raved about the guy's character and work ethic. He transfered to FL to be closer to home, but it sounds like that wasn't enough. Hope everything works out for the dude.
then I hope he is able to find some space to get the right care and therapy along with family support.
Many things far more important than football.
The mental health thing was reported on while at Clemson. It is not a jump to assume that may have played a role in leaving Florida.
dang it i was going to post this lol. saw the thread title and immediately thought what you posted. well done.
The word "shit" is NSFW? Do you work at a preschool?
This was probably an early morning decision...
I hate this commercial and how many times I've had to suffer through that reference. I mean, yeah, the first couple of times were funny. The next 5,000 have left me considering legal action against State Farm for unwarranted pain and suffering.
A for effort
Quarterback, Jake Fromm must feel...
Well I wouldn't want to face Rashan Gary and Mo Hurst in week 1, either.
In all seriousness, best of luck to him on whatever he chooses.
Naked Shark Guy... that's good. Hope there are some signs at Jerry World
Fruhmorgen cheese
Coach McElwain enters the locker room and puts his hand on Jake's shoulder.
Welcome to the Gators, son. Now Jake, like any new player there's a bit of a hazing ritual you'll be expected to go through. Helps build team spirit. It's nothing that I haven't done my own damned self, and hell - I enjoyed doing it.
Anyway, see that pretty shark over there? The one with the "come hither" eyes? You'll want to mount that shark from behind ... Jake? JAKE? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!?
IIRC from his recruitment, Fruhmorgen's dad played at Alabama and then with the Dolphins in the NFL. I was surprised when he committed to Clemson in the first place, but it would be a little tough to walk away from football entirely when your dad was an NFLer.
Is it so far fetched? Some NFLers are also walking away from football entirely now days.
Not far-fetched. A little tough.
Do you think it would be easy?
