OT-Oden out for season

Greg Oden out for the season with a broken patella (kneecap). Tough day for Buckeyes.

with a ruptured achilles tendon, it occurred to me there might be an angry-trailblazer-hating-god roaming the hardwoods. Now I'm convinced. Oden seemed like he got his attitude in shape for this season; too bad.

i am assuming tough day for buckeyes refers to 2 broken vertebrae for osu's best player. 8 weeks seems pretty optimistic to be playing DI basketball in the big ten...

is 2 inches shorter than the other, if you watched him "run" up and down the court his one year at OSU you could've seen all these injuries coming

Judging from his looks he has to be 40+ yrs old. When you are that old bones become more fragile. Seriously though, that is horrible news. I hate to see anybody get a serious injury like that. Especially multiple times in their young career. Portland is a young team who relies a lot on just talent alone because they don't have a strong veteran presence and to lose your big man is a tough loss to take.

MAX - and looked at as one of the biggest busts in the NBA all time. Its too bad because though his offensive game isn't all that, he is a defensive monster.

I feel bad for the guy. He has always been a likable dude with a good sense of humor. Too bad his body just wasn't made for handling the stress that comes with playing in the NBA.

I first heard there was "minimal contact". But if you look at the video, the guy is driving past his OTHER LEG. He essentially injured himself in the act of jumping. I guess that's not as bad as injuring yourself in the act of getting up off your couch like last time he was out for a season. Still....that sucks..... I used to think it would be awesome to be 7 foot but the more I think of it no. If you're 7 foot and if you're not in the NBA you're basically screwed.

again, they should have taken Durant. Mr. Glass will never play a full season. What amazes me the most is that every time it is a new injury, wrist at OSU, microfracture knee surgery before he could even play in the NBA, and now he busts up his kneecap. Best of luck in rehab.
