OT: Obama to speak at Rutgers commencement - Steve Politi of NJ.com blasts blatant opportunism

Submitted by icactus on

Okay, so Steve Politi didn't really weigh in yet but I'm waiting... We can't let these outsiders come into our state and speak to our children. Clearly Obama is trying to steal recruits from NJ.

UPDATE: He has weighed in! Tweet embedded below.

Clearly this is a recruiting move by Rutgers to attract students to their school and a recruiting move by Obama to encourage everyone to enter the workforce so they can pay taxes to the government. Outrageous

Obama has one daughter who will be going to college next year, and another a couple after that. This is clearly a ploy to sway the admissions committee.

I think the object lesson here is that the entire nation from its leader on down would rather just see Rutgers wallow in the cellar of the Big Ten because it is precisely where they should be, and I believe that - no matter your affiliations - we can be unified under the idea that Rutgers can take a long walk off a short pier.

Remember Obama said football is too dangerous for young men.  And all he'll talk about is equality for transgenders.

Obama is just doing this for votes - Politi

Curtis Christie would have loved to do this.

Side note, this is the best speaker ever at Rutgers. I'm impressed. Their previous best speakers were Mario Bitali and Tony Soprano.

I'm glad Obama at least waited until Julie Hermann got run out of there to reward that institution with a commencement speech by a sitting president.
