The New York Times puts on their "TMZ" hat and writes an incredibly banal article about the "resurgence" of .gif images. I never knew they went away?
I know we love our gifs around here. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Would rather listen to Morris Day and the MF Time!!!
“Well, I was this close to bringing a sinner to Jesus, and now he is consigned to eternal damnation. I hope that you’re happy.” - Boyd Crowder, Justified
GIFs are cool again? No way!
(pops in Chumbawamba CD)
The NYTimes lifestyle columns are completely idiotic. They have the be the most lazy pieces of "journalism" out there. They literally read like a writer was sitting in his/her office, thought, "oh crap, I need an article...uh...what's happening right in front of my face right now?"
I remember reading one a couple years ago about the new "trend" among 20-somethings: not wearing deodorant. It was clear the writer had just run into some smelly Brooklynites.
also had an article a few weeks back about the new fade amongst young people that involves "hooking up" instead of "dating." It was something that Herm would have written: "in my day we used to only hold hands until marriage..."
What's worse is that their gif doesn't loop. What good is a gif that doesn't loop?
"“For people in their 20s, GIFs are a relic of their childhood, so it makes sense they would come back as a fashion statement — just like ’70s fashion came back in the ’90s, and the ’90s are coming back around now,” said Jason Tanz, the executive editor of Wired."
What? Its not a relic of our childhood, and its not reemerging. Gifs NEVER were gone. They were extremely popular in the early-mid 2000's, just like they are now.
Well the 90s were good to us. I was thinking about this the other day. How nice it would've been to be born 10 years earlier. Wouldve been young but in my influential age for the '89 championship. I would've enjoyed the Fab Five (was in diapers for their runs). Would've been able to watch the hockey team win in '96 and '98. And well obviously the '97 football championship would've meant something had I been 15 not 5.
If you spell Crisler like the car company you should hand in your fan card before the next meeting.... Same goes for Ferry Field
I was in that beautiful time you speak of. T'was glorious, fellow sir. Just take solice in knowing that you don't have to feel the frustration of osu "fans" (grew up in Ohio, most of my old UM fan friends are now osu fans) completely forgetting the 90's and their beatings. I remember a time where the osu game didn't even make me nervous! Regardless of record or rank, I just felt we'd always win and we often did. osu has changed athletically and, oddly, I think that the 90's tipped them over the "fine line" edge and into the Tressel years and beyond. Take solice in knowing you don't have to truly know that experience and see it happen in real time to no effect.
I lived in Ohio during the late '80s/early '90s. It was a BLAST. Ohio State was totally freaked out by Michigan. Not only in football . . . they also lost a chance at the Final Four to the freshman version of the Fab Five.
I got so cocky that I would not even tune into the Michigan-Ohio State game until the second half. Why waste time when the results were inevitable?

They probably thought that reporting on .gifs was a safe bet.
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
Only posts that contain .gifs will be allowed in the comments. All others will be downvoted. That is how I conduct matters here.

Streaming UM games early Sunday morning from Korea, since 2007
i didn't get past "for those in their 20's, gifs are a remembrance of their childhoods' or whatever the hell.
