OT: Northwestern Wins
First, congrats to Northwestern on their first ever tourney win. That must feel incredible.
Second, and more importantly, did anyone else just see Pat Fitzgerald enter the locker room to congratulate the basketball team, go full Brian Kelly blueberry, and "celebrate" by repeatedly punching either a student manager, assistant coach, or injured player? He punched the guy at least six times, by my count, but it could have been more...
I was going for Vandy.
awesome.
I admit, it was pretty sweet. But it reminded me of that overzealous dude from your fraternity that still thinks you're both 20 and has several beers and punches you in the arm every time he makes a joke. Yeah, that guy...
There's your problem.
for george blahblahblahh
"That's alright, that's OK. We'll hit jumpers in your face someday."
It doesn't have the same impact.
Until I watched Skip and Shannon: Undisputed this morning. Skip went off on how Vandy was going to whoop NW, and how Vandy was a better school, in a better conference, and all around more talented. Kind of annoyed me, but that's why the show exists.
Turn the channel.
Screw northwestern
He was fist pumping in the air, not punching the guy. Good for him for supporting the team. I picked Vandy but was glad to see NU win their first tourney game. Why couldn't Minnesota pull through?!
Here's a link to Fitzgerald in the locker room.
Fake news. My video angle showed him punching the guy. FAKE NEWS!
Now that I see YOUR video, it doesn't look like he was connecting. I admit it. But damn he was coming close... ;-)
if it makes you feel any better, that was surely a Nazi salute from Collins
Yep, don't really care either team won't beat gonzaga .
Northwestern currently has the best winning percentage in the history of the NCAA D1 mens tournament.
The comment goes perfectly with your signature
Have to acknowledge the foul Fisher-Davis for Vandy at the end there. Vandy hits a shot to go up 1 with 18 seconds left, Fisher-Davis thinks his team is down 1 and not up, so he immediately fouls an 86% FT shooter. NW hits them both and gets the win. Heart breaking for the kid.
This win for NW also leaves Nebraska as the only P5 school without a tourney win.
Is that what happened? I was wondering what the hell Vandy was thinking, fouling NW with a 1-point lead (I was watching it at work with the sound off).

I was listening to the radio call on my drive home, they said that Vandy's coach pointed at the NW player for Davis to stay with him. Confusion ensued, and Davis erroneously fouled the guy. They said coach grabbed his head and was apoplectic.
Oopsy...
Congrats to NW on their first ever tourney win, though!

Used to live in Evanston so glad for the school in general, but they sure have gotten some lucky breaks this year. Feel bad for the Vandy kid. They still could have won but he's gonna have a tough time forgetting this one for a while.
For Chris Collins
So you are saying that pat is excitable, really???
Hey, Pat. I am here to remind you that your team lost that game.
Yeah but that intentional foul...
Also, don't look now, but Villanova is only leading Mt. St. Mary's by one at the half.
I don't expect Villanova to lose, but this is very much a game.
Good for them and Elaine.
Never say never.
Pat Fitzgerald is beyond annoying.
you should have seen how many times Derek Mason punched Matthew Fisher-Davis in the other locker room.
Hope that doesn't augur anything for the game against Pistol Pete.
Terps looking like shit.
to break my bracket. And they had to get lucky to do it.
Hollis shows his IQ by making Minnesota a 5 seed.
Spike playing major minutes in the second half. Couple of nice passes but dudes keep missing the shots.
They already hurt my bracket. I picked against Northwestern, Maryland and Minnesota. Only had Purdue and Wisconsin winning today from the conference.
only one I've missed is Minnesota, and I had them losing in the next round. picked Maryland to lose.
