The Giants might want to cover Vernon Davis a bit better. Just sayin....
January 22nd, 2012 at 11:05 PM ^
they did...well enough anyway
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:09 PM ^
commercial based on his TD dance?

More like Aaron Rodgers looks like Alex Smith.

Brandon Jacobs = soft
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
Giants fail to convert 4th and 1. The trusty handoff-up-the-middle doesn't get it done this time.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:19 PM ^
The Giants jerseys always seem at least a size too small.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:19 PM ^
Except Eli's.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
Not sure either are great match-ups for Brady. Can we have him play the loser?
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:33 PM ^
I am rooting for Jim Harbaugh. This shouldn't be a hard choice today.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:07 PM ^
The Giants have the 49ers beat 3-2 with Herrmann, Manningham and Baas. (SF also has Goodwin)
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:13 PM ^
Harbaugh would get by far the most credit of any coach/player, so he has more on the line.
And Jim Herrmann is more likely to make me root against the Giants than for them.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:34 PM ^
Is the theme "Michigan produces great coaches at all levels" or "Michigan should have hired this guy"? He's certainly the most high profile in this game, but I don't know that producing great coaches helps recruiting, whereas, having arguably the best QB of all time does.

But then I don't know that Baas really helps our recruiting does either. Manningham just catching a TD doesn't hurt though.

But then my generally antipathy to NY teams, and Mannings probably has me leaning towards SF. Still think Harbaugh has foot in mouth disease, but he's an excellent coach, and I'd rather he be cocky than a cheater. And I think he does things the right way.

Looking like another last minute game either way. And either way I want them to lose to Brady. Though not sure they will.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:02 PM ^
I think both of these QB's are better than Flaco and these two teams run the ball pretty good. Don't know if NE can handle that combination the way they played today, even though NE won.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:32 PM ^
Nice series for the Giants.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:57 PM ^
Still tied at 7.
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:58 PM ^
But I want Harbaugh humbled a little bit. I think he has had so much success so early, I believe he needs to be brought back to earth. However, he may be the second coming and win everything no matter what, but humility would help him a lot. Maybe it's sour grapes but he trashed talked UM about grades, dissed the Lions (twice), and in my opinion he acts just too damn cocky. Just saying. I don't know him but appearances are usually a good indicator.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:13 PM ^
who hasn't dissed the Lions at least a couple of times this past decade or two?
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:04 PM ^
Go 49ers. I don't really care for Harbaugh's comments about his alma mater, but at the same time, I'm not really a fan of anything that comes out of New York.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:04 PM ^
Giants receivers dropping a ton of passes on this last drive.

End of 2nd, 10-7 Giants.

14-10 49ers. Vernon Davis with his second TD catch.
January 22nd, 2012 at 8:56 PM ^
can score again here, this game will change big-time
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:00 PM ^
I've been a Michigan fan and a Colts fan for my whole life. There are rumors of the Colts being really interested in Tressel. Irsay has flown to Florida twice in the last two weeks to interview him. My gut reaction is that if the Colts hire Tressel, I'm no longer a Colts fan. If that happens, what should I do? Am I being irrational?
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:05 PM ^
But it will be the first job the vest has had where the players make more money than he makes.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
Great to see Harbaugh come out there and stand by Thomas when he was down with a scary injury. I've always wondered why coaches don't always do that for a player and often opt to just stand there watching it like the rest of us.
Gotta love this guy.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
I had to come here because this is the only place where people could join me in understanding how stupid that punt was.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:22 PM ^
NY just got dicked out of a TD. Even if the call is reversed the damn ref blew the whistle.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:25 PM ^
It appears you can't return a muffed punt anyway.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:27 PM ^
but Im sure I have seen teams advance the ball in that situation before.
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:32 PM ^
Gotta love that guy. I'll never forget his catch to beat Penn St. with 2 secs left on the clock (that Lloyd argued back on the clock earlier that game). I was sitting in the corner of the endzone, not very far from that amazing game winner.

All I can think of when Mario Mannigham catches touchdowns
January 22nd, 2012 at 9:32 PM ^
Manning to Manningham... that was a sweet catch. I've been waiting for him to get involved!
