OT: Nick Sheridan named RB coach at CMU
He'd been an offensive GA at Tennessee the last two years. Also, I didn't realize Bill was still coaching.
Congratulations to Nick. We'll always have that Minnesota game...

Lou MacAdoo made no reference to Nick Sheridan, so I'm confused as to why you asked him that question.

Haha thanks for that, but I've been posting this comment on every thread today in hopes of drumming up more support. Wasn't sure how the bombardment would be received...

Mind recalling what that "shit" was? I don't remember anything like that.

I'll start right at the top—in the immortal words of Brain Cook:
"Sheridan = Death."

"Nick Sheridan is Actually Good, and he's Trying His Hardest."

I never tried to make the case that he was good—he was woefully out of position at QB in RR's offense. I also never pissed all over him for it, or made snide, condescending comments about how hard he was trying, either.

You only piss on hockey players who leave early.

and learn to coach.
Through no fault of his own, he found himself to be RichRod's best option at times in 2008.

yet the walk-on gets the grief.

I will never understand the placing of a former player of one position (in this case, QB) in a coaching position that he didn't play (in this case, RB).

Actually, if you remember the PSU game that year (2008, I think?) in State College, Nick spent most of the game running for his life. I am sure he acquired some skills as an RB in that game alone!

I'm pissed that you would say such a thing about a guy who did his best for Michigan, results notwithstanding.
But I'm especially pissed that you made me laugh out loud!

1. Dammit, I laughed too hard at that.
2. In all seriousness, I would want Sheridan as a QBs coach. He got playing time because he picked up the playbook quickly and always knew what to do...his walk-on body just couldn't pull it off.

I saw Belichick in person once. He's about 5' 6" tall if that. Guarantee he never would have played anything for a college bigger than Weslyan.

You sure it wasn't tailback? Like, "I know its my third trip but I'm still going to take my tailback to the buffet line.

Well, he may have occasionally controlled a cornerback on Madden.

It happens regularly.
Lloyd played QB. Coached DBs and LBs.
Moeller played LB. Became offensive coordinator.
Bo played on the line. Coached the QBs/coordinated the O.

Oh, come on now. Bill Belichick played center for little old Wesleyan University in Connecticut and he is now a Sith Lord. In part, it takes the drive to develop your skills and to get a broad experience in the sport - the rest is simply replacing Drew Bledsoe with Tom Brady due to an injury.

(ytum) played defensive back at the University of Cincinnati, go figure.
Yep, happens all the time.
