I know he's known for questionable antics on the field but leave the door open for an accident on that one.  I mean it's very possible that his helmet got snagged.

And yes, there is no place for that kind of thing on the field.  However, it's been going on since football began.  Probably a whole lot better now that players know that their every move is available on replay from every couch in America.

that all Lions fans are not considering right now.  That fact is that everything is going to go wrong from here until about week 10 in the NFL season.  Once it is clear there will be no playoffs, that next year will have to be THE YEAR, things will settle down with a backup quarterback replacing the injured Stafford and what is left of the injury plagued defense and get a nice win here and there (blacked out of course).  But until that point of insignificance, there will be much heartbreak, much injury, and much of all of that bad Lions stuff.

Please understand the Lions curse is a real thing, it hurts people, it eats people, it destroys people.  It hasn't miraculously gone away or decided not to be a curse any more.  It is ready pounce on unsuspecting prey and ruin another season.

Today Fairley, tomorrow...........?

Signed

Lions fan that will not actually believe anything good can or will happen until it actually happens.

Stress fractures don't always show up on x-rays, but the fact that the x-ray came back negative. If it is a stress fracture then I'm assuming it's a minor one (since it didn't show up on the x-ray) and that would set him back just a few weeks (3-5 I'd guess, unless it's more severe). Not ideal, but not the end of the world either.

I don't think it was practice related .. he appeared to injure himself on this dive. Notice the way his foot rolled off the side of the pool.
