OT: NHL - Wings vs Lightning
Wings are playing at Tampa.
This is the first regular season game between the Wings and the StevieY-led Lightning. Both teams are first place in their respective divisions.
Wings are up 1-0 on a Dan Cleary goal, midway through the first, and have killed off three consecutive minors.

Good point and I agree.
I hate to get too far ahead of myself, but can you imagine if he took over the reigns here and won us a couple cups? The man is already a legend in Detroit, but if he could find success in the front office I would think that might cement his place as the greatest Detroit sports icon, ever.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high on that one. I'm not saying it won't happen; just that it's not as much of a sure thing as a lot of people seem to think.

Come on guys like modano are taking less money to play for Detroit and your saying that one of the best to wear the red wings jersey won't want to come back. It might take a couple years for holland to step down but the future is his. Raback it..

I'm not saying he won't want to come back, but you never know what will happen between now and then. I'm just more comfortable taking a wait and see approach with it, that's all.

I think the only thing barring Yzerman coming back is his success at the GM level. If he can prove himself in Tampa, I can't think of a reason he wouldn't take/be offered the Red Wings job.

Goals have just been coming easier with Datsyuk and Cleary back. Hope we can hang on to this game. Seems like the Wings are regaining the pace they were setting before the injury plague.

Another important person that is getting overlooked is stuart on defense. He has been a great pick up for the wings

I absolutely love the Red Wings. Datsyuk is one of the most dynamic and balanced players I have ever watched. Great performance by him tonight.
Before tonight, and I know one game should not be influential, but I really wonder what Ken Holland will do with this team come trade deadline. Do you add a player? Do you make a trade? What happens?
