OT-NHL Playoffs vs. NBA Playoffs

Submitted by maizenblue92 on

This is a good discussion to kill time on a Wednesday. Which is better/do you prefer? NHL or NBA Playoffs. I personally prefer the NHL playoffs and it is not close. The games are more entertaining, there is more real drama (NBA has fake drama), and the grind it takes to win shows just who is the best. But that is just my opinion, what is yours?

Neither of them really appeal to me, but if I had to choose I would say NHL. The NFL and MLB are the only professional sports that I enjoy following and watching.

But I'd probably lean on the question towards the NHL. Mainly because over the time I've watched it, the NHL has stayed about the same, and the NBA has gotten worse. The NBA teams of the 80's - early 90's run of Sixers-Lakers-Celtics-Pistons-Bulls would run roughshod over the League since, and it's just now starting to recover. The great old teams in the NHL would probably still be great, but there are more good teams because the NHL survived expansion thanks to the influx of foreign players. And not enough have come to offset NBA expansion, so while there are great players, they're too spread out. The NBA has the best athletes in the world, but they're on too many teams.

<br>However, the NBA doesn't have an "intent" rule, so they have that going for it. And their best athletes consist of 1 Canadian, not the majority, so that alone means upgrade.

I'd love everyone in here saying NBA is so predictable to tell me who's going to be in each conference semifinals, conf finals, finals and champ. I bet we get lots of different (and therefore wrong) answers.

I would love for you to pick out who is coming out of the west and east in the NHL. Good luck picking the eastern conference. That conference is a complete mess. At least with the western you an obvious #1 team in Vancouver. However, in a seven game series I would not count out San Jose or a healthy Detroit with Zetterberg back in the lineup.

For the NBA: Lakers in the west and Miami or Chicago in the east. The NBA is so obvious it isn't even funny.
