OT: NHL Playoffs Open Thread
Columbus came out hot tonight. The barn sounds pretty loud, though I doubt it is the most hockey-knowledgeable crowd we will see.
Wow. The team is on fire and the crowd is incredible. Great to see an underdog take on Pittsburgh and hit them in the mouth. Love the 2-0 lead right now
Bobrovski is on fire right now and Columbus is not letting up at all. I would love to see Johnson get a deep run since I have no horse in the race this year.
Yea I've got a bad feeling about this Pens series. A good notion for most of you but I'm not seeing "it" right now for my team (wasn't able to see the 1st period, so maybe they are doing okay and shots are being denied, but a 2-0 hole isn't good, regardless).
Can't be a Michigan and a penguins fan. The two fan bases are mutually exclusive
You can definitely be an OSU and pens fan though
You can definitely be an OSU and pens fan though
Did you just offer me fandom to Ohio St.?!
take it back...
TAKE IT BACK!!

Many Michigan fans also fans of Sid the Kid. Especially when he keeps winning gold medals for the true north strong and free!
Many Canadians also hate him.
Now a 3rd game starting with Hawks-Blues. I'm sure that one will go to OT.
That could be a back breaker for CBJ. Never wanna give up one in the final minute. Oh well, it'll make for a good 3rd period.
And anyone paying attention to that Col/Min game?? Minny is playing some diiiiiirty hockey. Already taken 3 Avs players out of the game.
And can't wait for this Stl/Chi game to start. Pulling for a Blues sweep.
Playoff hockey > _________
Well, 1-0 Hawks. Time to mute tv (or change channels) to avoid listening to their goal song.
Wow what a way to start the 3rd for CBJ. Getting some puck luck to erase that last second goal for Pitt.
What a swing. It's weird rooting for a Columbus team
Except it isn't too wierd when it's against Pittsburgh.
Now if we rooted for CBJ over, say, a NYR or Montreal, now that would be wierd.
Dang it. Pitt scores. 3-2 with 14 minutes left.
Just like that it's tied at 3. Blue Jackets can't forget that Pittsburgh is a talented team.
Cbus just blew that one
Wow. 3-3 now.
Pitt starting to flex their muscles. CBJ getting rattled. Time Out.
Holy crap. What an onslaught.
You can just about put this one in the books. Jesus what a clinic by Pitt here in the last 5 minutes.
Pretty impressive collapse for a team playing at home that was looking so confident.
Yep. And it's like I can't even put a finger on what caused such a dramatic shift in the flow of the game. Once the Jackets got that 3rd goal, Pitt just turned it ON. I don't even think you can say the Jackets started playing "defensive". It's just something clicked with Pitt, and this is the result....a scary, offensively skilled team.

These two teams are not even close talent wise
"It's not a series until the visiting team wins".
This before Detroit's game 1 win. He thought Boston could hoist the Cup and thought Detroit could win the series, saying both in the same sentence!
In spite of Saturday, I think Boston has their hands full. Go Wings!
What a heartbreak of a loss for the Jackets. This could end of the series mentally for these young guys on Columbus. A game where they were controlling every aspect slips away from them in a 5 minute span. That's brutal.
Now let's hope the Wings game win game 3. Gotta make that game 1 win count and hang onto home ice.
Go Wings!

"A game where they were controlling every aspect"
I think we were watching completely separate games. After the midpoint of the first period, Pittsburgh completely dominated that game.
That was an interesting way to get a win. 2-1 Pens, though.
Columbus actually got a really good look there at the end. It's crazy that in all three games a team blew a 3-1 lead.
Aannndd you can put another tally for OT games this playoffs. 0-0 stalemate in the Col/Min game.
That'll bring the goals/game down a bit.
I logged in just to say that Columbus is such a joke. They blew a 3-1 lead in game one and a 2-0 in game three.
Pitt blew a 3-1 lead Saturday.

Each game has been extremely close and had come down to the very end. Each team has blown a 2 or 3 goal lead. Columbus is a hard-nosed team that plays tough. Not sure where you see a "joke" team.

To be really fair, game three was only close on the scoreboard. Pittsburgh absolutely dominated that game. Bobrovsky standing on this head is the only thing that kept Columbus in that game.
I can understand that if you only saw the second half of the game, but Columbus dominated the first period and part of the second. Pittsburgh turned it on midway through the game.
Um, yeah, definitely watched the entire game. Shots were like 16-7 Pittsburgh after the first and they totally dominated zone time. First 5-7 minutes were all Columbus, but after that it was all Pittsburgh.
Prediction: Heatley in OT for the Wild.

And Granlund wins it, what a game. I can definitely get behind the Wild.
