OK - maybe I am misinterpreting this, but I think that the media is blowing this out of proportion. If I heard it right, they allow custom dog jerseys and they said they aren't going to prohibit someone to order a custom Vick dog jersey.

... but the man did his time, and he should not be singled out by his own league. If somebody wants to buy a doggie uni with Vicks name, then they should be allowed to do so. Note: My feelings about what companies pay for his endorsement is a whole different matter. I think he's toxic and I wouldn't want him as the face of my company.

But he is not entitled to an NFL contract. Last time I checked, in aggregate, NFL teams were 0.500 last year. Does Michael Vick increase NFL revenues (in a league with significant revenue sharing)? I'm not so sure. But that is the decision of 30 general managers, and one of them decided yes, and the others didn't try to lobby against it, so we'll see. If I were the animal society, I'd encourage some sort of light boycott, for example against Philly gear. People aren't gonna stop watching the NFL, but they could ridicule those that wear Philly gear.
