OT: NFL Opening Night

Submitted by Vivz on

8:30 Tonight, NBC is the kickoff of the new NFL season. Heavyweight matchup as the defending SB champ Ravens visit Peyton Manning and the Broncos.

Along with general FOOTBAWness, the game should be a good one.

Not worth the read. "Take out Denard Robinson's rushing stats and they aren't nearly as stout!"...No shit. Take out Tommy Reese's passing stats from their first game and ND is the worst passing team in the league. See what I did there?

I should be very afraid of Nix? Don't link me all the "research" showing how crappy a team Temple is and then say Michigan should worry about Nix. Notre Dame should worry about Nix. Why? 2 penalties and 1 TFL. More penalties than playmaking?

I could sit on a toilet and crap out a better argument than him.

Ravens fan checking in, kinda upset a scheduling conflict put the game in denver since breaking in an inexperienced secondary vs peyton won't be fun in denver, but hey we won the superbowl last year so i'm still happy.

I'm thinking Denver in a close one. Peyton will have a little rust but will ultimately come through against a Ravens D that hasn't had much time to gel.

Why is it that the Lions have to be on the portion of the display that had the letter "O" for "kickoff" (looking suspiciously like a zero)? Am I thinking about this a little too deeply? Perhaps.

What was up with the ref who patted down (checked his chest and particularly his arms where he had no padding) that Ravens player - don't know who it was, but I'm guessing a DL?

I've never seen that before.  Did you see him patting down anyone else?  My only guess is that he was caught with using grease to make himself slippery before.  Maybe an unpublished punishment where he has to be checked before the game?  Totally out there guess.  Any ideas?
