Stunner: Texans trade Brock Osweiler AND 2018 2nd-rd pick to CLEV for Browns to take Osweiler contract off Houston books, sources tell ESPN.

The Browns just "bought" the Texan's second round pick next year.  We can cut him, absorb a very minimal cap hit against our number, and we still have the pick.  This is an "NBA-type" trade where one team takes another contract off the books.  And he instantly becomes the best QB we have on the roster.

Read Adam Schefter's facebook post on it.  He said it might be the most creative trade in NFL history and he's calling the Bowns brilliant.

We are absolutely killing it today.

no...he is free agent.

This is brilliant for both teams!

Houston realized that they paid huge $ swamp land in AZ last year and then got Cleveland to buy it and got a 2nd round pick.

Meanwhile, Cleveland just bought themselves a year in the desert then will move out when Watson is ready to take over. Only cost them a 2nd round pick.

I read the original post incorrectly. Thought it was B.Os for a 2018 2nd rounder.

Just read the details on the new thread. It is still a good deal for both teams considering the salary dump for the Texans.

I really doubt Clev drops Osweiler this year.  Even with him, the Brownies go 4-12 as opposed to 2-14 with any other QB on their roster

After this trade Cleveland has 2 1s and 2 2s this year and 1 first rounder and 3 2nd rounders next year.  We have enough ammo to get Garret at #1 and then go after either Garrapolo OR Cousins.

Nobody in the NFL is laughing at the Browns right now for what they're doing today.
