I would love if the Lions ended up with Mychal Kendricks and Janoris Jenkins. It could happen, but not likely. We need a OT, but man is it a weak draft this year for OT... Kalil didn't even grade out that high as far as draft over draft rankings are concerned.
Cordy Glenn would be a huge upgrade over Peterman or Gosder. Very versitle guy. I don't think he'll ever make it as a LT though.
Agreed but Backus has been on his last leg for a while. He had a nice year last year but how many more can he have in the tank? I'm guessing not many if any... Would be nice to get a big time LB, but man I like the value of Kendricks.
Man, Poe film looked weak. He just doesn't bring it on the field. Motor is an issue and he is supposed to be a NT in a 3-4 in KC? That looks like a bad pick in my e-pinion.
He's the classic bust DT. High upside, shows flashes of being dominant, but takes a lot of plays off. Teams bank on those guys changing their attitude or developing a motor, but they never do.

Absolutely. He could be ok in a 4-3, but man you can't have a NT taking plays off... poor fit for sure.

I hear ya, but his ceiling is high enough to warrant the risk.
i'd be happy if either Dre Kirkpatrick or Janoris Jenkins was still there
In two years people will be calling him Janitor Jenkins.
Love Jenkins if in the second round, but man with our coach (don't get me wrong I love Schwartz, but he doesn't scream discipline) I just don't know if he will stay on the field... very risky but high upside for certain.
Best case scenario: Puts the immaturity behind him. Ends up being far and away the best corner in this draft, and a huge steal in the second round.
Worst case scenario: Goes on a walkabout with Ricky Williams in the Australian outback prior to his rookie season to, "find himself." Breaks the record for most violations of the league's substance abuse policy in one year.

I hate taking that kind of a gamble at a position of serious need. They can't afford a bust at CB right now. It's not like Fairly last year.
Freaking Ohio is always ruining things.
Kirkpatrick is now gone. CORDY GLENN! CORDY GLENN!
Anybody else who's watching on espn notice the graphic for Poe said he was the 11st pick?
Would DeCastro be a good pick for the lions?
Yes.
Reiff has T Rex arms. He's a Backus clone.
Welp, my Redskins got their guy.
You better hope that he's THE guy, cus they're not gonna be getting another guy for awhile.
Oh he's the guy. He's going to be electric. I can see the Sports Center clips coming now. We also probably gained 150k fans across the country tonight.
Football is a team game. I don't understand giving up so much for one guy. Not even Brady is worth that.
Very few positions are worth it. A franchise QB is one.

but without a strong supporting cast he won't be able to maximize his talent. I can see two for one, but not 4 players for one. 4 players who should at least be starters .
But Tom Brady has been carrying what would otherwise be at best a mediocre team for a few seasons now. So it can happen.
But maybe banking on your QB turning into Tom Brady is not the wisest strategy.

"You know, former Giants GM Ernie Accorsi told Cowherd a few weeks ago that a franchise QB is worth FIVE first round draft picks. That might be a little bit of an exaggeration but he makes a great point. You can't put a price tag on being set at the most important position in the game. You really can't."
Also, they did not give up four players they gave up three... this year's first round pick was a swap.
Also while they gave up 2 first round picks and a second, it is not a guarantee that any or all of those players would have turned out to be starters.
It is a guarantee that RGIII (Not Rex Grossman III) will start at some point this year.
I have a very real fear that the Lions might pull a Millen and take another D-lineman to make it 3 for 3. Mayhew's commitment to the best available strategy is worrisome.
Just ask the Giants. Plus with Vandenbosch getting old and Avril maybe heading out of town, the Lions will need an DE who can rush the passer.
If they can get Reiff the draft is looking real good for the brownies. They need a wr but they can manage with that line and Richardson.

Wide reciever....please God....make the Browns take a wide reciever!

Or a bunch of 2013 1st round draft picks...

Those two viewpoints aren't mutually exclusive. 'Bama's going to keep reloading until they actually lose a couple of games.
any chance the Lions take Janoris Jenkins???
Very doubtful.
He did not even use a trainer to prepare for the draft. That and his legal issues make him a questionable selection. But Mayhew is not afraid to take guys with issues as seen with the Fairley and Leshoure selections.

With how that's gone character will be of concern. Watch.

Not in the first, but man do I hope he is still there in the second...
