Daryl Stonum is listed under Michigan, not Baylor.

rated #133 overall, taken @ 101. I bet Denard goes earlier than his 192 6th round rating
(per CBSSports.com, which doesn't hide their info behind a paywall).

has GOT to be considered the greatest since 1997. That team was led by a junior and senior class that has ended up having ONE player drafted on the first two days of TWO drafts (Mike Martin, rd 3, 2012). Just remarkable first-year coaching and leadership by the seniors, especially the aforementioned Martin as well as Molk, RVB, and Junior.
It's also encouraging that despite this lack of allegedly-high-draft-worthy talent (geez, did you see all the UConn and UNC players getting drafted?), we still had two pretty good seasons on balance. One was a little lucky and over-achieving; the other very unlucky with injuries (Countess, Denard) and schedule ('Bama, road games), but if this is the "ground floor" of the Hoke Era, then I believe we'll have more than a few Football Final Fours in our future.

Sounds like a candidate for one of the greatest COACHING seasons in a long time.
Makes me excited for when all these excellent recruiting classes mature and get to their junior/seniors years. We're not going to have the insane attrition that was commonplace under richrod

There is a lot of talent/value still available in the 4th round. I wish we hadn't traded our early pick away. Surprised to see Matt Barkley, Denard, Akeem Spence, Jessie Williams, Barrett Jones, Ace Sanders, Ryan Swope, Alex Okafor, and Alvin Bailey amongst others waiting to get taken.
Edit: Yikes! 4 of them gone in the first 6 picks. Hope some of my favorites are left for my Lions. I want them to take BWC in the 7th as a project. He's got a future in the NFL somewhere.

Brian Kelly on NFL Network, really gushing about Denard. Says "don't think about what position he should play, just draft him and then figure out where to put him". Says he is really tough and physical. Mike Mayock also says "just find a spot for him".

Tom is rated #118 on CBSSports.com and the Lions have the 132nd pick

Yeah, but I wouldn't worry, Tom's always been overrated.

Good thing MM isn't calling the shots anymore.

I'm breaking my own rule about not wearing football jersies with another man's name on it and buying a Denard Lions jersey.
Denard, Megatron,Bush...oh, my.

the bigger question than Denard is when will Leon Sandcastle go?
April 27th, 2013 at 12:20 PM ^
now gone... Denard is next.

Do we take credit for Stonum being drafted? I mean he did play here for 75% of his career.
April 27th, 2013 at 12:51 PM ^
He only had 3 receptions for 51 yards and 1 TD at Baylor. If he is drafted, it'll be because of his production at Michigan, not Baylor.
I wish Darryl would have been more responsible. He would have been a key player last year.

could potentially be trouble for Detroit... He was kicked off Tennessee because of Titus Young traits. Great athlete but terrible attitude, and Detroit doesn't need anymore attitude/ behavior problems.
Brandon Jenkins would be our best bet at this point. He played both Sam and DE too, and his injury shouldn't be a big issue for the future.

I could have understood EJ Manuel or Geno Smith going to the Eagles, but Matt Barkley? I'd think Chip Kelly would have wanted a more agile quarterback.
that James Madison, William & Mary, and Valdosta State had players selected before Michigan did.
I cannot wait until Brady Hoke starts coaching talent (in the junior/senior classes) that warrants multiple draft picks in the top 3 rounds.

I'd love Denard to the Lions, but I feel like he'll be gone sooner than the 5th round, which feels like the right place for him.

OMG THEY SHOWED DENARD!11!!
Hope he goes to an NFC North team so I can see him. Either that or the Stillers or Patriots. Pitt would be overflowing with Wolverines with 4 if he goes there.
That picture NFL Network just showed of Denard with family waiting at home looked painful. I've never seen Denard look quite like that - nervous and uncomfortable. Folks in the background, too.
I don't read too much into this. He'll be fine and he is blessed. I'm hoping beyond hope that he goes to the Lions (I know, many aren't). Love that guy and especially his character. The stress on his face just shows what is at stake for these guys.
Go Blue. Go Denard!
I really wish people would take a realistic perpsecitve of the 'Denard has put up with a lot of criticism' meme. Give me a break, please. He has been a celebrity everywhere he has went. Yes, he has received some criticism, but its been a mere grain of sand in the ocean of praise and laudatory treatment he has received since he has started at UM.
Any of those would be fantastic for Denard. I just don't want to see him (or any Wolverine) end up at some sad-sack franchise like the Lions or Jacksonville. Although I guess the advantage with the latter is that Denard's family could watch him play more easily.
Maybe he can still hang out with the Stillers.
"Tampa Tom" Gholston. Has a certain ring to it.
plus the bowl victory ;)
picks... Please... Denard to the Lions would be legendary.
DENARD - DENARD - DENARD !!!
a couple picks until the Lions. Please.
Harvard, Colorado State Pueblo, Valdosta State and Cornell have had picks before Michigan.
What is life?
Pretty damn obvious. We brought in some great kids between 2008 and 2011 but they were seriously lacking in NFL talent. In a few years the 1st day of the draft will be back to having multiple Michigan guys being drafted.
