OT: NFL Divisional Playoffs Open Thread
The Ravens currently have a 17-13 lead over the Texans halfway through the fourth quarter. Kickoff at Lambeau is in about 40 minutes. For what it's worth, Carl from ATHF has picked the Football Giants to emerge with a win this evening.

Did anyone else notice the entire crowd in Baltimore start yelling "REEEEEEDDDDD" even before he picked that ball? The whole stadium knew what was coming, players, fans... except for TJ Yates. Poor guy. Ed Reed is sick nasty good
January 15th, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
the kid in the crowd who flipped off the camera after Reed's interception?
January 15th, 2012 at 4:09 PM ^
Houston throws the Hail Mary on 4th down, no good. Baltimore holds on 20-13.
January 15th, 2012 at 4:22 PM ^
I'm not even a Texan fan and I'm angry with him! I know he's a rookie but man did he make some bonehead decisions. His line was blocking for him, he wasn't sacked once so it's not like he should have been hearing footsteps. Great game by the Texans O-line, D-line, great game by Foster...it wasn't all Yates's fault but man....

This subway promo overload is killing me

Clearly a fumble in the NY-GB game.
January 15th, 2012 at 5:38 PM ^
Agreed 100%...im pissed at jennings for fumbling at the refs for making that dumb ass decision. Now the haters will use those calls as a way to duscredit whatever we do on the field despite us having no control over what the refs do. Now I know how Duke bball feels:/.

screw the packers
January 15th, 2012 at 6:07 PM ^
Stay classy

Glad they lost.

How do you permit a WR to get that open?
January 15th, 2012 at 6:20 PM ^
Wouldn't go so far as to call them awful. Those are 4 of the starting 5 that played amazing football last season (minus a pro-bowl FS in Collins). I think what you mean to say is they are not playing well, which is accurate.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
I've watched every game this year, if they aren't awful they're pretty damn close
January 15th, 2012 at 8:06 PM ^
So Shields, Tramon, Burnett...all those guys are garbage players, eh?
January 15th, 2012 at 8:37 PM ^
Have you watched them at all? With them it's a 15% chance of a pick or a 75% chance of a big gain. There is no middle ground whatsoever. They had their fluky little run through the playoffs and then took turns this year seeing which one could get scorched the most by any half-decent QB-WR combo.
January 15th, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
Ive watched this team enough to know they havent played up to their potential this year and that they will be fine with the current core group of players back there, especially if collins comes back from injury, and they find someone not named bush to take over the woodson rover role. Calling last year flukey is not worthy of a response, hater.
January 15th, 2012 at 10:01 PM ^
You can't blame losing Collins for the complete defensive meltdown, how many players on defense were out with injury last year? How many linebackers? Look at Green Bay's defensive numbers the last 4-5 years and tell me which season doesn't fit with the others? You guessed it: 2010
January 15th, 2012 at 6:42 PM ^
Zook punting keeps us in it
January 15th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
Go, Giants, go.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
Haha that was the same route Manningham ran against PSU for the game winner in that game.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
To manningham!!

<br>Sounds familiar...

This is why you don't want a college football playoff if your goal is to get the best teams in the championship game.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:35 PM ^
On this day the Giants are the better team. If anything this game supports a playoff.
The Packers defense has been poor all year. Sooner or later it was going to catch up to them just as it New Orleans lack of defense finally bit them in the ass yesterday.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
Of course the Giants were better today. They aren't a better team. Please tell me VCU was one of the four best basketball teams in the country last year.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:39 PM ^
This is a matchup of two roughly equivalent teams.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
Fair enough, but doesn't change the broader point. Take VCU basketball as the example then. I'm fine with a four or six team playoff but no 16 team thing.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:34 PM ^
Bill Leavy should not be employed after this game.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:38 PM ^
He is the one officiated the notorious Pitt-Detroit Thanksgiving Day game. He was the ref who gave the Lions the ball even though Bettis called the correct side. He is terrible.
January 15th, 2012 at 9:03 PM ^
No, that was Phil Luckett.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
Hell of a season the packers had, that said the Giants look awful scary right now.
January 15th, 2012 at 7:43 PM ^
Anybody but the giants lol...
It's all about the New England Brady's!
January 15th, 2012 at 7:45 PM ^
The theme of this game has to be the "Discount Fumble Check."
January 15th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
Woodson got beat to the edge on that last TD. Nooo
January 15th, 2012 at 7:55 PM ^
I think the dream matchup for the Super Bowl is now Giants-Patriots
January 15th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
Packer tears are delicious.
I hate that f-ing team. Don Majkowski. Cursing the NFL with Brett Favre. Sterling Sharpe in the Silverdome to tie, then beat the Lions.
Hopefully they will get rid of those stupid-ass State Farm commercials as well.
January 15th, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
Well alright Giants!!! My boys beat the Packers AND the refs. Someone should be fired. Two utterly incompetent calls. Bring on San Fran!
January 16th, 2012 at 9:46 AM ^
My boys didn't let the refs steal this game and try to let "America's team" win. And now its time to get revenge for the playoff game the refs stole from us in 2003 against the 9'ers with the bullshit no call pass interference on the botched field goal.
January 15th, 2012 at 9:05 PM ^
Good job by the Giants to get rid of the most cloyingly obnoxious team in the NFL. But now I'm pulling for the Niners, because since 2002, ten different NFC teams have gone to the Super Bowl, and I want it to run to eleven in a row.
January 15th, 2012 at 9:22 PM ^
...bring myself to pull for the Niners because their bandwagon has already become insufferable.
January 16th, 2012 at 12:57 AM ^
If you're not for the Harbaugh Bowl you're not for America.
January 15th, 2012 at 10:51 PM ^
I love that all the experts gave the G-men and Niners no chance against the super human Packers and Saints. Can't wait until tomorrow to here them all back-tracking. Go Giants. Still have to say my favorite player was Mark Bavaro, loved that guy as a kid. Giants vs. Niners should be a great game.
Giants Vs. Patriots take Two!
January 16th, 2012 at 11:12 AM ^
I'm with ya. Bavaro was my favorite as a kid too. Toughest mutha out there. The play where he carried al of those 49ers down the field will forever be etched in my brain. Simms to Bavaro in the seam was always money.
