OT: newest wolverine

Sending out a congrats to my dad. He is a lifelong U of M fan and always dreamed of attending Michigan. He went to WMU on a track scholarship (couldn't afford to pay out of pocket for Michigan) in undergrad, and life circumstances prevented him from attending law school at UM (went to Cooley instead). Now, nearly 40 years later, he is finally a Michigan student getting his LLM. So if you see a 60 year old guy jumping around in the Maize Rage, be nice to him. :)

Thanks! I think one of the reasons he encouraged me and my brother to go to U of M was because he regretted not taking that opportunity. Now he gets to experience life as a Michigan student for himself.

This is great news and congratulations to your dad for getting to live his dream of being a Michigan student.

This is further evidence that it really is never too late to do these things, and I wish him only the best in his time at Michigan.

Congrats to your Dad. That is a great example of desire fulfilled and commitment rewarded.

And, I'll bet he taught the Profs and fellow students some things given his experience!

I just retired after 30 years and am thinking of enrolling at the Univerisity part time this fall.  I'm 52 years old and never went to college.  I am now considering working towards a degree in anything meaningless that I find interesting.

At the least, sit in on Bacon's class this winter. Shoot him an email and he'll be glad to let any Michigan resident sit in for free.

(He's teaching History of College Athletics in the winter this year, in order to accommodate the Endzone tour.)
