I stand corrected. Have to pay more attention to Netflix.

Also i'm pretty sure Netflix is producing a Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist show/s.

has also been great. Jason Aarons Thor run is fantastic. His series Scalped from Vertigo is the best comic series I have ever read.

I was HUGE on Spiderman when I was a kid. I came back to comics and for whatever reason I've stayed away from the character. I re-read the old one I have and they are fucking awful. I loved them when I was a kid.
I will try out Scalped as long as they have a TPB and I dont have to go searching for the actual books.
A brand new secret gem that I have read is Royals: Masters of War. I hope it goes where I think it could.
I have heard great things about Bunker as well, but my dude down here sold out before I could get it. It started as a digital-only though so it's out there. I just haven't looked yet.
COMICS TALK IS MY SHIT! Love this.

comixology app is a must if you do. Scalped is in TPB, thats how i read it

Obviously I was well late to the party, but last year I picked up the Annihilation: Conquest arc and was completley blown away by the complexity the cosmic universe Marvel had going on.
I had known many of the characters like Nova, Mar-Vell, Adam Warlock and such from the Infinity Gauntlet storyline but I was like a 10 year old again reading Annihilation. If you have a chance and haven't read it I would absolutely recommend it, not only for pure entertainment value, but to also get a good glimpse at what the future Marvel movies might look like.

Well Kate Mara is quite attractive, it will be interesting to see her as a blonde. I really liked Michael B Jordan in Friday Night Lights. No idea who the other two are, the one looks like an odd choice for the Thing but I assume he will spend 3/4 of the movie as the CGI Thing, so not sure his physical appearance matters as much.
Love the FF comic's when done right (Millar or Hickman spring to mind), it will be interesting to see if they can really capture the right tone in the movie.

Casting isn't based on appearance or if someone is a good fit for the role. It's based on who is a "hot name" at the time. Both Alba and Mara were considered "hot" names when they were cast. It's the ever-changing "It Factor" in Hollywood. When an actor gets it, they'll get cast in a role they would have never gotten ten years ago or ten years from now.

"Fuck making a believable movie, one that will stand the test of time and (somewhat) historical accuracy...lets get some butts in the seats. I wanna get PAID!"
yes, I understand its a business and its their job to make money, but I'm sure there's a way to do that and still be true to the comic book.
And I realize I'm running the risk of these actors killing it on screen and having it blown back at me years later...but still.
February 20th, 2014 at 10:05 AM ^
I'm sorry, but there's no way you can square this being "true to the comic book" with these casting choices. I'm sure it will still be a good movie, but staying true to the comics is clearly not the studio's priority.

I felt the same way when they cast red-head Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spiderman.
Until I learned she was a natural blonde.
Now I'm all fucked up.

her fate in the trailer for the new movie.

I re-watched this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbp3Ra3Yp74 ) trailer but didn't catch it. What was I supposed to see?

through the glass dome or whatever that is, this time its not the bridge like the comics. Wont spoil for anyone

No, No, No and No. Dumping Jessica Alba? No!

How can you not like someone who lets herself get felt up by the Rock dude... Come on, it looks like Thing is totally grabbing her va-jay-jay in the picture below.
Who can come up with the best "slogan" for one of the fantastic four like...
Once you've had stone, you will never be alone...
Once you've had elastic, all other members just seem like plastic...

Mr. Fantastic is Miles Teller's father...he looks like Sue's younger brother, yes?

I like all these actors, but I don't think any of them really fit the roles. These are odd choices.

also +1 because Magnus

if I'm not mistaken Ben Grimm/Thing is very very large, Hulk size in fact

STOP TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF THESE CASTING CHOICES AND JUST ADMIT THEY ARE AWESOME FOR NO REASON
February 20th, 2014 at 10:33 AM ^
fan, the previous two movies ruined it for me. I hope they get it right
February 20th, 2014 at 9:47 AM ^
I thought we already assigned Caris Levert and Zak Irvin to some of these roles. Didn't they get the memo?
February 20th, 2014 at 9:52 AM ^
February 20th, 2014 at 9:53 AM ^
Didn't they already bring Galactus into one of the movies?
February 20th, 2014 at 9:56 AM ^
February 20th, 2014 at 10:01 AM ^
Would you even want Galactus in a movie? He's such a hard character to pull off or do the right way. Avengers had "Thanos" set as the villain for the sequel and then realized, Uh no one knows who Thanos is and how the fuck do we do Thanos anyway?
Same reason you'll probably never see Darkseid or Apocalypse in a movie without it bordering on ridiculous.
February 20th, 2014 at 10:31 AM ^
Apparently you didn't know the title of the X-Men movie slated for 2016:
X-Men: Apocalypse
They are doing that character very soon. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3385516/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Guardians of the Galaxy.......Yeah, you must not be into comics even a little bit
February 20th, 2014 at 12:57 PM ^
I didn't realize Guardians of the Galaxy was on the same level as Justice League or X-Men. Shit, it's not like I asked "Who's Spawn???"
Plus, it was a joke, bro. Assuming anything with GOT is not Game of Thrones.
