well put together. Enjoy
OT - Nerds Unite, Harry Potter vs Star Wars
Uh is this a joke? One "Accio lightsaber" followed by an Avada Kedavra would end the fight in about three seconds.
Would the accio not be countered by the force and avada led acts absorbed yoda style? Guess it depends on the Jedi.
They kind of made the Harry Potter guy a bit of a spazz.
in reel life, huh!?
Is a very odd thing to say.
Edit:oops, just took the time to read what you actually wrote, reel life, you got me!
Presuming you didn't slice your own hand off trying to catch it.
Not even close. In the canon books the jedi are way more ridiculous than the movies, they are capable of using the force to pinch parts of the brain causing instant death (and other such ridiculousness). This wouldn't even be close.
Well, as of yesterday or whatever, there isn't any canon anymore. If it wasn't in Epis 1-6, or Clone Wars, or upcoming in Rebels, it officially didn't happen. So Says The Mouse.
This is always the dumbest argument. It's clearly star wars
Fuck Harry Potter!! Star Wars by far!!!
Obi wan Kenobi. Now there's a great wizard.
The original Star Wars trilogy is a masterpiece.
Harry fucking Potter? Are you serious?
I love Triumph
look, I respect the HP series b/c of the depth of their story telling and the way they engage young people into reading and the messages young people get from teh HP books.
but cumong, man it's Star Wars
Depth of the story telling? It's the same thing every book. He goes to school, something bad happens, he rages, someone else fixes the problem, and he goes home.
it's a series of books for kids, let's not pretend we're discussing chauncer or vonnegut here, boss.
Little bit of an oversimplification, don't you think?
Book V was sort of like that. Book VI too. The others weren't. And Book VII was a significant departure from the rest of the series.
That was actually rather well done, and as much as I enjoy both series, yes, the answer probably would have to be Star Wars because many reasons. That being said, I chuckled at the rather famous last words of the guy playing Potter - "What the fuck you talking about?". Somehow, given how that fight scene was set up, it only seemed fitting.
Very cool, I thought. Thanks for sharing that.
And Harry Potter v LOTR?
There have been classic Star Wars vs LOTR arguments.
He always does.
Harry Potter. Star Wars is overrated.
This opinion is wrong. Downvote.
Down vote all you want. I could never get into it.
Thanos with the infinity gauntlet has something to say about this...
Lamp Lighter. Lol
Question there is no.
He normally gets his ass kicked, but I didn't see any g moves in this. Five FAKES out of FIVE!
I like Star Wars, but I absolutely love the Harry Potter series. My 7 favorite books are the Harry Potter books in some order. I find it frustrating that most of you seem to prefer Star Wars. Oh well, you have a right to your opinions.
I would say Harry Potter. But since, you know, I'm not, I think we all know what my answer is.
What is that supposed to mean? I'm 23 but I will always defend Harry Potter. Star Wars is no more mature than Harry Potter is.
with Rick Grimes.
But, like I said, if I was 12. You were pretty close to 12 when the Potter movies started coming out so it's reasonable for you to say that. Since I was older than 23 when Potter movies started coming out, it's pretty obvious I favor star wars because I was closer to 12 when they were coming out (and I'm not talking about episodes 1-3, but rather the 1st 3 that were made.)
Jar Jar Binks.
Aren't you allowed to like both series? I didn't realize it was an either/or thing. I guess it really doesn't matter since Doctor Who is better than both anyway.
in a galaxy far, far away...
Harry Potter wins
Princess Leia in the gold bikini > Hermione Granger at any point in the series. So Start Wars wins.
Amadala (NATALIE!!!!!) in that skintight white top in Epi 2 >>> Leia & Hermione together.
I always laugh my ass off when I see this on South Park...
I'm one of those carmudgeons that was dragged to each Harry Potter movie, and regretted it every time (not a fan of turning imaginative books into movies). Star Wars, of course!
For very different reasons. However, I'm giving the nod to Harry Potter, and I'll explain why.
In the Star Wars trilogy 4,5, and 6, the acting was fantastic even if the special effects hadn't caught up as much. In 1,2, and 3, the acting was terrible. Just terrible. The storyline wasn't as good, the concepts weren't impressive, and even though the special effects made things cool, it just didn't make the story worth it. In Harry Potter, both the story and the acting got better over time.
I also say Harry Potter because Star Wars was NOT originally a book, and I prefer books. The better question(s) would be LOTR v Harry Potter and Star Wars v Star Trek.
However - if it came to a fistfight, I'd say Star Wars, because Yoda. Duh.
He-Man vs Gi Joe vs Thunder Cats, 80's-90's cartoons?
I HAVE THE POWER!!!
It's hard for me to forgive the Harry Potter movies for completely botching the movie of my favorite book in the series (Azkaban). Granted, they got a new director later on and he did a solid job with the last few movies. Both series are great in their own ways though. If we're talking movies, I have to give the nod to SW, in spite of the prequel trilogy, because Episodes IV, V, and VI are better than any of the HP movies.
In terms of "who would kill who", I will say SW because there's more depth to the Force than there is wizardry IMO.
But I'm glad I don't have to choose between the two in real life because they're both great and I can't wait to introduce them to my children.
Botched it my ass
For HP, my vote goes more towards the first movie due to leaving things out of the end. They left out a couple rooms/challenges that he had to face. Wizard chess was badass though!
