OT - Need Advice New PS3 Game...

Submitted by clarkiefromcanada on

Hello friends,

In the dead period between my purchase of Red Dead RedemptionGod of Ware 3 (and completion of the same) and the fall releases of Fallout New Vegas and Turismo 5 (allegedly)...I come to the MGoCommunity for support and guidance. About a year ago I asked a similar question and god hip to the Fallout series (to that point I had not been much of an RPG sort of player). I have considered NCAA 11 but am scarred by the historically crappy 2008 and 2009 versions with their particularly unnvavigable menus and crap gameplay...just saying. I would be totally open to it...if it doesn't suck.

Anyway, I am open to any advice. I was leaning toward UFC 2010 and Tiger Woods 11 but I'm thinking seeking MGoCommunity advice is good business.

Thanks everyone.

NCAA 11 is pretty fun in my opinion. Recruiting is super annoying though.

The game is a little outdated, but id highly suggest you check out Uncharted 1 & 2 if you havent. They are both very fun games.

Out of the two you are looking at, I would go Tiger Woods, but I have not played UFC 2010.

Has gotten mostly positive reviews vs. older editions.

Though beware...I do know someone who had Tate transfer to Ohio State in their dynasty season... (Now THAT would have been the all time negging thread. Subject: Tate transfers to Ohio State! Comment: ...in my NCAA 11 game.)

Bioshock and Bioshock 2 if you like atmospheric, clever games.

One of the things I loved about Fallout 3 was the soundtrack.  Same for Bioshock.  Really adds to the game.

but the hands down best game ever is Bad Company 2.  Blows every first person shooter out of the water.  This game is all about online play so if you don't do that, this game isn't what I'm talking about.  Blows Modern Warfare out of the water.

NCAA 11 is actually pretty good The new physics make the control less "roller-skatey" and much more fun, and the graphics are vastly improved. No more cartoon characters. I boycotted the last two years due to a lack of quality, so I know where you're coming from.

Michigan's offense is a blast to run, especially now that all three quarterbacks on the game are good. You won't be "Threeting" any bubble screens. They also have a ton of quality skill position players and speed. Running the read-option is easy and the return of formation subs makes changing on field personnel in dynasty a cinch. I don't delve too deep into any mode other than dynasty, but recruiting has always been annoying in my opinion so you just deal with it. As far as the gameplay goes, this version is far superior to the last couple and definitely worth a try.

Modnation Racers is pretty fun. Kart racing game, but you can also create basially anything you want. It's like LittleBigPlanet.

If you haven't played Infamous, I would get that game.
