Hilliard willing Nova to tie this thing up
ice in his veins, those three were long ones too.
Another Jay Wright special - Villanova goes down to NC State.

w/ 1.4 seconds left is
Prob(scoring)
= Prob(Successful Inbound)
* Prob(Avoiding Turnover after Inbound)
* Prob(Making Shot)
I like that Jay took some risk on the inbounds portion (lower probability of success) in exchange for what would have been a realistic chance of making the shot from a normal shooting range had the inbounds been successful.
Like Bielfeldt*, the inbounder overthrew the pass, this time into two-point range, which would have made it really hard for Villanova to shoot a three had a Villanova player caught it there**.
The usual play is a conservative pass into the backcourt, which keeps the Prob(Successful Inbound) high at the expense of a prayer for the Prob(Making Shot)
*The egregious difference for Bielfeldt was that the score was tied, and throwing the ball directly out of bounds gave NW an inbounds under our basket with ~2.3 seconds left for the win. (NW missed this in regulation but won in double OT.)
**Here's an idea for a play..pass it into the lightly guarded paint for a kick out to three point land. You probably need more than 1.4 seconds, however.

I have a feeling "Crying Piccolo Girl" is going to be a meme amongst Nova haters
Man, I'm kicking myself I was a little too slow to the "print screen" button. That was epic. Poor girl.
I love the passion of March Madness. The crying cheerleaders with the school color ribbons in their hair, the teary-eyed players with their jerseys pulled over theit heads.
Nobody cries in the NBA.
Do you watch the playoffs and/or the Championship Series? I've seen LeBron and MJ shedding tears that a baby would be proud of.
after time ran out.

There is such a thing?
Villanova and Iowa State causing plenty of red and dread; come on Georgetown, need some points.

If you ever try to rely on Villanova, Georgetown, or Gonzaga in the tournament, you're gonna have a baddddddddd time.

Yes, they always lure me into picking them year after year. But I always return like a fool. And you can toss Kansas into that group of charlatans.

I had them out in this round to LSU not NC State, but still kinda proud of myself for not falling for it this time.
edit: And throw Pitt in there too even though they're not in it this year.

Man I just remember it like yesterday when Washington won the PAC12 and still didn't get into the NCAA Tourney...
Pac12 teams are doing well this year.

And just like that Georgetown loses too. Man it feels good to not fall for them anymore either. Had them losing to FGCU a couple years ago too.

I wonder how many people that are usually Notre Dame football fans and IU basketball fans have jumped on the Notre Dame basketball bandwagon?

I'm sure he was just reacting.
SInce ND is kinda meh historically in basketball--they haven't been Final Four material relevant since the Adrian Dantley/Bill Laimbeer/Kelly Tripuka/?Orlando Woolridge? days--and moreso since I've got them to the Elite Eight, I'm kinda taking a liking to that Pat Connaughton.
