So who thinks Cincy can keep UK at bay for the whole duration of this game? I'm pleasantly surprised.

w/ 1.4 seconds left is

Prob(scoring)

      =      Prob(Successful Inbound)

           *  Prob(Avoiding Turnover after Inbound)

           * Prob(Making Shot)

I like that Jay took some risk on the inbounds portion (lower probability of success) in exchange for what would have been a realistic chance of making the shot from a normal shooting range had the inbounds been successful.

Like Bielfeldt*, the inbounder overthrew the pass, this time into two-point range, which would have made it really hard for Villanova to shoot a three had a Villanova player caught it there**.

The usual play is a conservative pass into the backcourt, which keeps the Prob(Successful Inbound) high at the expense of a prayer for the Prob(Making Shot)

*The egregious difference for Bielfeldt was that the score was tied, and throwing the ball directly out of bounds gave NW an inbounds under our basket with ~2.3 seconds left for the win.  (NW missed this in regulation but won in double OT.)

**Here's an idea for a play..pass it into the lightly guarded paint for a kick out to three point land.   You probably need more than 1.4 seconds, however.

Man I just remember it like yesterday when Washington won the PAC12 and still didn't get into the NCAA Tourney...

Pac12 teams are doing well this year.

I don't think I've ever seen white dudes flying around like that until this basketball game... no racism/prejudice intended... but GOT DAMN white boy what block!

I'm sure he was just reacting.

SInce ND is kinda meh historically in basketball--they haven't been Final Four material relevant since the Adrian Dantley/Bill Laimbeer/Kelly Tripuka/?Orlando Woolridge? days--and moreso since I've got them to the Elite Eight, I'm kinda taking a liking to that Pat Connaughton.
