OT: NCAA 14 Demo out tomorrow

Submitted by freernnur5 on

The NCAA 14 demo comes out tomorrow for Xbox 360 and PS3. It will feature the following matchups:

OSU @ Michigan

Oregon @ Texas A&M

Alabama vs. VT (neutral site - Georgia Dome)

Also for those interested about the ratings of Michigan's players in the game, you should be able to open up the depth chart and browse around for any specific players (or all of them).

Can't wait! Get to see the Denard loading screen, depth charts, new features, unlockables that are always in demo mode and play as Michigan in the demo.

Anyone buying a PS4 this December? I originally was against it and all dead set on xbox, but the no used games thing has pushed me back to Sony.

Gonna hopefully be playing NCAA 15 next year on the PS4.

While I'm sure they've been surprised by everyone suddenly being so enthusiastic about gamestop and the status-quo retail model that before a month ago was universally hated-- the digital distribution based system that the XB1 is going with still supports used games. They just require a company to be affiliated with their system in order to process the license changes. Assuming that the likes of Amazon and Paypal will be on board, the impact of that is minimal.

in the Xbox One, might look at it when it drops signficantly in price. Even if you throw out the additional hassles associated with XB1(different used games system, no renting, 24 hour online check in even for single player games) out the window, there is still no way in hell I am paying $100 more for the system that is the weaker of the two from a raw power standpoint. There is nothing appealing to me about the XB1 (tv features are pretty meh when it still requires a seperate cable box and I have no interest in Kinect). That is coming from someone who played on their 360 more this gen, despite owning both.

Also expecting big things from Sony's first party exclusive developers this gen, currently playing The Last of Us now, and it is incrediable, just as the Uncharted games from the same developer were. Can't wait to see what can be done with the power of the PS4, though I am sure we will see some impressive stuff on the XB1 as well.

As far as NCAA, I will check out the demo as always. Doubt I will buy the game this year though, waited for a large price drop before buying last year, after buying day one every year before.  Got sick of playing a game with minimal improvements year after year. Don't have a ton of free time to play games, would rather spend that playing games actually worth full price. I can wait for the actual season to stratch my college football itch this year.

I just got word back from EA that MGoBlog will be getting a free preview copy of the game for us to review. Their media guy is a Michigan fan (from Indiana but nobody there follows the Hoosiers).

Here's our problem:

People with XBox360s: Brian, Heiko

People with PS3s: Seth, Ace

People with both: nobody.

So...you guys all prefer a review of the PS3 version correct?

Now I can practice for my ridiculous tradition of playing Michigan's opponent within 24 hours of the real life game and pretend my efforts (if I win) have an effect on the outcome of the real game.

It's that time of year where I sit on the fence about the one game left that I buy for myself and not the kids.  "You don't have time to play that much these days anyway," I remind myself.  "You're only going to get frustrated that the game hasn't made any significant improvements over the last decade, and that so many aspects are still so unrealistic!"

Then the time finally comes, I shrug my shoulders and pre-order, hoping to rediscover the enthusiasm I felt when I played NCAA as a teenager in the 90's.  The game comes in, I mess around with team builder as I wait for the roster files to come out, spend a while tinkering with the Michigan roster to get all the ratings right (as I see it,) get halfway through the first season of my first dynasty and then forget about the game altogether by the time the actual college football season starts.

Ah, another fifty bucks well spent!

Does anyone know what times these will be up to download? I have both PS3 & XBOX 360, so I'll just download whichever is up first, I just don't know when the things go live on each system.

So what are the new features available this year? Is it just a roster update?

I had fun with NCAA '13 but once I won the championship I started to get a little bored. I barely turn my 360 on anymore for NCAA. :(
