OT NBA oversteps its bounds by giving Spurs $250,000 fine.

They almoast won though. It took a freak play Ray Allen 3 pointer with 20 seconds left to take the lead for Miami.

Better to punt one game than put yourself at a disadvantage in four different games. And as it's been said they almost won anyway. Pop knows what he's doing.

I haven't watched the NBA in years. Junk league of ball-hogs playing streetball. NCAA teams play real basketball - you know: passing, set plays.
The spurs and heat could close shop tomorrow - nobody cares.

It's hard to run a motion offense or the like with a 24-second clock. Pick and rolls and pindowns are set plays too.

First of all, if your local team of choice happens to be the Pistons or Wizards, then what you are watching is not streetball. It's garbage.
Second, if you ever watched the better teams in the NBA, you would see good offensive flow. The Princeton offense, triangle, whatever D'Antoni calls his offense, are in full display.
Now if you want to talk about the quality of player, that's a different story. But that won't change until the NBA and possibly Euro leagues stop taking kids until their third year out of high school, like the NFL. If these kids had to stay in college, not only would the college product be even better, but the NBA would be able to draft kids with a larger body of work to review, as opposed to one or two years max.

I don't think MLB is more grueling than the NBA. It's a longer season and there are more games, but baseball isn't as hard on the body. A lot of NBA players end their careers with bad knees and bad backs. Some pitchers have shoulder/elbow trouble at the end of their careers, but the position players are generally okay . . . and I'd rather have a bad shoulder than a bad back or bad knees.
