come on yalll lets get it onnn
Mike Spath points out that doing an interview for the official site is a pretty good indicator he'll be back.
Go Heat. Actually I don't care who wins, but I love it when the LeBron haters come out in full force.
Skip Bayless "He may have won a championship, but he still isn't clutch cuz he was on bench in 4th quarter cruisin to a victory, and he has superstars around him and Jordan couldn't rely on Pippen or Rodman for help ever"
May Lebron rot in Hell. I cant decide if I'd rather have the Heat swept in four or lose in seven with Lebron missing a wide open shot at the buzzer...no strike that....PASSING the ball to a no-name off the bench scrub who misses the shot....with time running out and the Heat lose. Either would be wonderful.
Every living Cavs fan
I think you and gordie bell have some real chemistry.
I'm more outraged over the Seattle Supersonics being bought by a guy from Oklahoma City, who then makes the DECISION to abandon Seattle for OK City. Who can anyone root for in this series of turncoats.
It definitely sucks that the Sonics are gone. I seem to remember it being a pretty painful, drawn out process, too. The new owner obviously trying to move them, the Seattle fans obviously upset they were losing their team. I remember it getting kind of ugly.
"Who can anyone root for in this series of turncoats."
-Because the players, the people fans actually cheer for and root on, have/had nothing to do with the re-location.
yeah, so what are the 3 of you doing these days anyhow?
Let's go Thunder
I'm rooting for Clay Bennett to choke on a chicken wing..
Dont really care either way...however, slightly hoping for OKC to win it seeing as how all of sports radio would be slurping lebron making it sound like his 1 title would be greater than anything Kobe/Jordan/Magic etc.... have done over their careers.
I'm not up on my NBA trade rules, but can Juwan Howard be traded to the Thunder at this point? That would really make my rooting interests a lot clearer.
OKC in 5. Durant is unstoppable and sefalosha is gonna contain wade who will have a mediocre series. Besides him and lebron, who durant will shut down, who else is gonna score?
this is a terrible analysis
Only time will tell sir, but I'm pretty sure I'll be right.
"Who else will score"
Bosh. Battier, Chalmers. Lebron (no, Durant will not shut him down man)
Wade will also get his
I was pretty spot on. Lebron carried them but not enough. Wade had a bad game thanks to some solid defense. Chris Bosh was essentially a non-factor and the other guys played admirably but it really didn't matter. That 1 game that miami will win will come from an explosion from lebron and wade which will be unsustainable after that.
This is a well articulated criticism.
Really nice first quarter by the Heat. They're playing pretty loose so far. It's going to get interesting when OKC goes on a run and the crowd really gets into it.
I knew the Battier family back from about when Shane was a 6'8'' 8th grader til around the time he went to Duke. Really good people. His mom is a character; friendly and loud, his dad a laid back likable sort and two other nice kids. Not hard for me to root for Shane to get a championship
Let me see if i can help you non-Clevelanders understand our hate. Imagine as you were growing up there was this girl next door to your house. As you got older she got older and she developed into a serious hottie who EVERYBODY wanted. But you were her boyfriend and despite the fact she disapeared on you at the worst possible time (Orlando series in 09, Boston in 10 - especially game 5) you stuck by her and defender her against any and all criticism from others.
Then the time came for you guys to take your relationship to the next level. You proposed to her only to find out two (or maybe even three guys) wanted her too. But it was ok because you knew you had supported her no matter what and besides that you were the richest of the guys pursuing her and could provide her the best life she could imagine.
So she decided to make her "decision" on which guy she would marry on national televison and all you could think was "no way would she go on TV and embarass me in front of the entire county. After all we've been through she might leave but no WAY would she go on TV just to humiliate me and destroy my hopes." But when the time came she not only didn't chose you she decided on the biker dude and told the entire country that she was taking her considerable talents to South Beach.
Like I said. May Lebron rot in Hell. Rot, rot, rot, rot, rot.
FYI-anybody who thinks this is just me needs to read the book "the whore of Akron" by Scott Raab. You'll get a great appreciation for just how much this flaming douche bag from hell is hated here. Fuck him.
I don't think anybody has ever had a problem understanding why Cleveland fans hate Lebron.
If he came back to Cleveland you'd love him, calm it down.
Actually it was worse than that. The GM asked LeBron who we wanted to "hang out with" and he refused to say anything to help in the process. Unlike when he went to Miami when he actively recruited players to come play with him and the rest of the SuperFriends network.
And would he be "welcomed back" if he decided to come back and play here when he's old and his considerable talents are gone? Probably about as much as Justin Boren would be if he got an extra year of eligibility and wanted to come back to Michigan to complete his graduate work.
Stop it. A. Just because Cleveland's front office constantly fell short in acquiring the right players don't blame James B. James never recruited, it was Wade C. I know many Cleveland fans that'd take LeBron back don't be silly. Look at who he had around him, he carried Cleveland. He made one error in judgement so calm down.
You just done tossed gasoline onto a fire
Stop it? No I don't think I will. Do you know what a "Q-Rating" is? It's the measurement of a person (usually a celebrity's)popularity and recognizability. A +100 would mean the person is recognized by everyone and universally liked and admired. Think of someone like Mother Teresa or Nelson Mandella. A -100 would indicate someone recognized by everyone and universally hated. Think of someone like Hitler or a depiction of Satan.
The week before "The Decision" Lebron was a +79 which was close to the highest ever recorded by a professional athlete. The week after "The Decision" his rating had plummeted to a -82 which was the WORST ever recorded by an athlete. Which is why you just don't see Mr James on ads anymore like we once did.
It's not just me - that fucker is universally hated.
..and in 2011 it was working its way back to average as the country moved on and began to forgive. That's what happens people move on and forgive him for his error in judgement, he even apologized. You just sound silly.
Also, I read in excerpt from "The Whore of Akron" it was just a verbal bashing of LeBron James..great book *sarcasm*
I sound silly? Which "in exerpt" did you read anyways?
And please post the link to his apology. I must've missed that somehow.
The part where he calls him a "mother fucker" and "wishes a career ending injury" upon him. It's terrible.
He admitted to making a mistake on ESPN at some point. We all know LeBron wants to be liked he just fucked up.
Well Lebron IS a Mother Fucker so Scott labled him correctly IMO. And again - please show me any documentation of any LeBron apology...ever.
Just cause you want it to be true doesn't make it so.
He isn't Satan, Cleveland sucks. He is good at Basketball.
Did you even read the link you attached? NOWHERE in it did Lebron apologize. All he said was "I may have made a mistake" in TELEVISING the decision.
That is not an apology - that is a mea culpa of the obvious.
And of course he's great at basketball. Through 3 quarters anyways.
No need to get personal and ask me about my reading capabilites. You take as many shots at posters as anyone on this board when they question your opinons. Stick to your arguments. Otherwise I (or others) might start attacking your comprehension levels and other shit.
There is nothing he can do for someone like you that is predisposed to hate him at this point. He would end up not being a man and standing up for himself about the decision then or some other useless attack.
Again...did you read it?
"But don't expect his comment to repair his broken relationship with Cleveland. The apology will likely ring hollow in Ohio, especially considering he refused to apologize when he returned to play the Cavaliers in December."
because he's out of your league? LMAO. Get over it and enjoy watching him dominate.
His hate may not be COMPLETELY justified, but I don't see a problem with him wishing LBJ and his team to do poorly. Why would he enjoy watching him dominate? Fans are allowed to dislike players..... I wasn't rooting for Justin Boren to do well at OSU I'll tell you that much.
as a Cleveland fan, but not as a bball fan. Lebron's been a class act (except for the way he handled the departure) and is certainly one of the top 10 NBA players of all time. Can you hate AND be mesmerized at the same time?
And also except for mocking Dirk in last years NBA Finals for no reason.
and wearing a hat with a crown on it (buying into the King James bologna) before he had ever done anything.
I'll just point out a few things that I hate about the fact that this happened: One of you has won 1 ring, so now it's going to be so easy to win 7? Last I checked basketball is a team sport, 12 guys dressed, 5 on the court, only 3 get to come to the pre-victory-party? I bet Haslem (who had won a ring with the Heat) loved not being on the invite list. Say "it was for the fans" all you want. But if the "big 3" go on stage and say things like "we haven't won anythign yet, we need you to be the best, most hyped crowd in the NBA. Come early, stay late, we've got a lot of work to do to win a championship (LBJ's first, Bosh's first) and we need you there working with us. LETS GO HEAT" That would have been a lot different than "Not 3, not 4..."
I don't see him bashing him as a basketball talent anywhere. Just bashing from a Cleveland fan standpoint. So isn't he doing what you want? And it's kind of hard to ENJOY (which is the word you used) someone's game while at the same time hating them for what they did to you and your team. It's kind of, you know, impossible. I "hate" LBJ and still think he's the most talented player in the game.
I look at it like this:
There is an extremely attractive girl who everyone in town wants to marry. However, she is arranged to marry a man who she isn't really crazy about. But it's an old family friend, who she knows well, so she goes along with it. She stays with him for 7 years, but things never really work out. The guy still loves her, but things aren't working out. She's worked really hard to make things great between them and have a successful marriage, but to no avail.
After the 7th year she has the option of staying with her current husband who she promised to be with forever, or one of the other guys who is in love with her. She finds one guy who is the guy of her dreams, and she's left with a Decision: does she stay with her current marriage to the old and possibly have an mediocre marriage for the rest of her life, or go with the dream man, who has the seemingly perfect life and they are much more likely to have a good marriage. She can't make up her mind and all the town is pressuring her to decide and it becomes a huge public thing. She is advised to make a big public decision, because the people can't get enough of the gossip, and the local paper really wants to have a big event for her.
After much debate she announces that she's going to go with the dream guy. Her ex-husband and his family is absolutely crushed. They all turn against her, and desire for her to 'rot in hell' over her decision—which may be a little extreme. She feels bad, she feels like she betrayed her ex, but she had to do what is best for her. However, after they got the drama that they wanted, the whole town hates her, and wants her to fail.
I actually like your analogy better than mine. Good job.
If you dont mind lots of shots then yeah....awesome job. I watched every game and was AT all the home games (I'm a 19 year Cavs season ticket holder) so i know what I saw.
Game 1 (loss) 49 points 20-30 shooting - great game no doubt
Game 3 (loss) 41 points 11-28 shooting
Game 4 (loss) 44 points 13-29 shooting
Game 6 (loss) - 25 points 8-20 shooting
so youre getting mad that the one decent player on your team had to take a lot of shots?
