OT - NBA Draft

Submitted by 615Wolverine on
The past couple of years have been fun for us seeing our beloved Wolverines going early in the first round. I'm glad we don't have anyone in the draft and all of our under class men returned. With that being said it looks like it's going to be a busy night with many trade rumors. My Lakers I believe will set the tone for the rest of the first round. I want them to draft Jahlil Okafor but there are rumors we may go with Russell from Ohio. It will be a fun night, including the Jazz who are shopping our Trey Burke hard. ESPN 7PM, enjoy.

Guys who can step in quickly and score seem to be what everyone in the media is saying talking about what SVG is targeting with the 2nd round. Petteway was the only "lowly" prospect the Pistons brought in to workout multiple times.

"The Pistons feel most secure at guard and center, but still could seek second-round help at one of those positions.

"Centers Mouhammadou Jaiteh (France) and Dakari Johnson (Kentucky) are candidates, as is Nebraska shooting guard Terran Petteway, the only one of 57 players the Pistons are known to have hosted for individual workouts who was brought back for a second workout.

"'They had more detailed questions than any other team,' Petteway said. 'They really asked about the season, really asked about certain things, personal, that were going on with me, and the things that made me play the way I played, things like that.'"

It makes sense with their emphasis on making the playoffs sooner rather than later. I just don't see him with the team after his first contract (which is obviously not abnormal for a second rounder) and would prefer a player with higher long term upside. But we do need depth on the wing and if SVG believes Petteway can solve that, it's cheaper than doing so in FA.

Gets so excited about how Lebron is running the franchise in Cleveland and how they drafted Jones because he is like Napier who Lebron wanted last year and they trade him for 2 second round picks literally 10 seconds later.

I was being a tad facetious, but if you follow the insider NBA chatter, a lot of the "decisions" insiders say LeBron's camp float out there are truly absurd, and most of the good trades that teams make, LeBron appears to oppose. LeBron is the dude who is like, "Bring in Mike Miller and James Jones! Also, screw Mozgov, can we get Big Z out of retirement?"

I'm not saying anything revolutionary or beyond the pale, just listen to a lot of the Cavs front office people after LeBron left. He forced ridiculous trades and made them make absurd free agent acquistions. Reports are, part of the reason he left Miami is that Bron demanded to have partial control over front office decisions and Pat Reilly refused.

Edit: I'm also not a LeBron hater. I cheered for him to win the title all 4 years in Miami due to the absurd and ridiculous hate, and rooted for the Cavs to win the title this year becuase LeBron haters are just the worst people in all of professional sports.

ESPN's really got their shit together. Their starting lineup for the Pistons consists of: Jackson-Jennings-KCP-Monroe-Drummond.

1) Jackson didn't come until Jennings went down

2) Even if they're projecting next year, Monroe won't be here, and we're sure not starting Jackson and Jennings together.

Darrun Hilliard is the 2nd round pick for the Pistons. SG from Nova.

Everyone who even remotely follows Detroit basketball has known Moose is gone since last year when he signed the QO.

SVG has said all of the right things because he's a professional who respects Greg, because Moose is a legitimately good guy who has given 100% effort regardless of the situation during his time with Detroit. I feel bad for Moose, because 10 or 20 years ago, he'd be one of the more coveted assets in the league, but the game has simply evolved to the point where people with his particular skillset are viewed largely as dinosaurs.

Damn, I played with and against Sir'Dominic (old name was Dominique) Pointer in football and basketball since 6th grade. I remember the guy could dunk with ease in 8th grade
