OT - Natinals Manager Quits After Win
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6697463
This is crazy stuff. He manages and wins the game today, the Natinals are playing great baseball and he resigns. I also heard him on an interview on WFAN NY and he said he just didn't feel like he could do his job being a lameduck coach. All he wanted was a conversation with ownership to talk about his contract and they refused. Seems like a decent manager but I doubt he gets another job.
Maybe his players were getting free cars.
The Natinals really need some "O"
yeaaaaaahhhhhh
EDIT-I get it. I'm a big dumb animal. Well done.
Only the Nationals organization can make the Dodgers look sable.
Is she?
She is SABLE, former WWE superstar, among other things.

* response to note about the Dodgers being sable (sic)
***guess it qualifies as not funny when you have to explain it ...
Yeah, they been talking about it all afternoon here in the DC area. Stupid to just quit like that in the middle of the season over a contract.
11-1 in last 12 and now 1 game above .500 and in contention for a pennant race (and that is saying something when talking about the Nationals)
Obviously, if you aren't getting an open door meeting with the owner when you have proved your team is playing well and starting to fill seats, then you need to get out.
I don't blame him. He's done great in Washington and they either don't want to pay him what he's worth or don't realize their suck team is playing well under his watch. Probably the former.
in the game. I would want security too.
filling seats?
i was at tuesday's game vs the mariners. definitely more people than i expected, but no where close to a full stadium by any means.
though i guess 50% beats out 35% full
He was disrespected, he wasn't given long-term security, but you can't just resign in the middle of the season while managing a team that is contending for a wild card.
He can be as angry as he wants, but he should have handled this financial business in the off-season.
should blame the owner. It's unlikely that he decided to quit after 1 refused meeting. There has to be more going on.
Just saw him talking on a short clip on PTI. It's rare to see someone go "I deserve a contract extension" (when he actually DOES deserve a contract extension) and then rather than continue and be a lingering issue for the rest of the year just resigns in the middle of doing very well.
