OT: MSU FB Loses Two More Commits

Submitted by FauxMo on

After losing Naquan Jones (4* DT) yesterday, MSU has lost two other players today: Jonah Morris (3* OLB), and Abdul Adams (3* RB). They have dropped down to #15 in 247's composite rankings for the 2016 recruiting class. UM's class is now ranked higher by Scout, Rivals, and 247.

Can this all be blowback from the Nebraska game? That seems unlikely. But that's a lot to lose in 24 hours for apparently unrelated reasons.

P.S. I know, we/I should absolutely not care about MSU's recruiting, I sound like they do with Little Brother Complex, etc. I, personally, find this information interesting and think others might too...

Im beginning to think something is up in EL...Maybe word has gotten out that Mike D-Antino

is leaving for South Carolina..He probably sees the writing on the wall..With Harbaugh at Michigan things are going to change and change fast...The fact that we had them beat is evidence of that..MSU will always be 2nd fittle like it or not and the disrespect card can only last so long..Maybe hes bailing...That And what the hell is Steve Spurrier dong and two consecutive MSU games...Hes a SEC guy whats he doing up here?...making a offer thats what

He is getting the Gavin Cupp treatment.  If you go elsewhere and dont tell Mike D'Antoni you get frozen out.  Cupp went to Friday Night Lights at OSU without telling Mike and he was "no longer committed" despite not "decommiting".  Sounds the same with this kid.

Anyhow #V4MSU!!! and Blackwell baby! ..oh #DreamTeam2016

Dantonio is not leaving and it's time to drop the little brother thing. It's weak and no longer true. I dislike state as much as the next Michigan fan. Wait for a 3+ year win streak before using "little brother" again.

I hate MSU like poison, but assuming a three year winning streak is on the horizon beginning next year might be as delusional as Sparty's idea that MSU is an elite program.  Mork built a contending program w/ 3* recruits and is doing much better than that now.  We will eventually have the upper-hand, but the 1980's mismatches aren't coming back.

We need to build an army and be good to beat them on consistently because Dantonio is not going anywhere and most likely once he reitres Narduzzi will take over. There is a reason why he went to Pitt and work on his HC skills and most importantly learn how to be personal with these kids so he can recruit. So yeah like it or not Dantonio will build a coaching tree big enough to keep msu relevant enough.

He has zero southern recruiting base.

South Carolina is a shit program that did in great coaches like Spurrier and Holtz.  Spurrier is an all time great and basically maxed out at 10 wins per year.  Its going to be 3rd at best in the East behind GA and UF and usually 4th once TN gets it shit together.  Just like MSU would be if PSU ever gets it shit together.

Dude barely ever talks about SC and he has been in the Midwest for 20+ yrs.  No reason to start over at age 60 next year for a chance to be 2nd in the SEC East and get railroaded by Bama when he has a good program built here.  At least he will have a fighters chance here to go 6-2 and 7-1 some years in the East - wont happen at SC.  Basically going to be starting from scratch.  You do that at age 53 not 60.

I've gotta agree for the most part. I am not saying it cannot happen, but it would surprise me. He's in a good spot with MSU. He can be a god there if he's in conference title contention every 5 years or so.

South Carolina he'd have to take over a crap team, start from scratch, and have high expectations from the very start since he'd be getting paid well. Just doesn't seem likely. But if he does want the job, I'll pack his bags and fill up the tank.

Where have you seen him mentioned for South Carolina?  Everything I've read regarding that job is they want someone young.   The odds from Brovada are higher for him heading to So Cal, but that just doesn't make any sense.

Sorry to interrupt this thread, but I want to say the following: Today is an important day in America. If you are a veteran or you are the family member of a veteran, I just want to thank you for the sacrifices you and your family have made for our freedom. Without the efforts of our veterans, we could never enjoy the things we take for granted. God bless. Thank you. GO BLUE !!!

Five of 247's "experts" have put in crystal ball predictions for Naquan Jones to Ole Miss in the past two days.  I remember when this happened with Laquon Treadwell... although I don't know of any firm evidence in this case, I wouldn't be surprised if Jones got a visit from a bag man that caused him to reconsider his commitment to MSU.

Sorry if this was mentioned as I didin't read all 180+ replies.  But anyone think it's possible that these kids saw the true colors of that fan base and said, "No effing way!"?

He does care more about the Michigan game more than any other game. It's going to take one win over them to fire up the fanbase again and everyone will be coming out of the woodwork to call them Little Brother. Agree with it or not it's a sure thing. It has to bother them that they thought their victory this year was all they needed to make Harbaugh go away, back to the NFL. Now here we are half way through November and Michigan isn't hitting rock bottom, or devestated. In fact in most polls they are just 1 spot ahead of us. That has to be unsettling to the sect of their fans that believed Michigan was never coming back.
