OT: Most hated CFB coach

Submitted by Hair Raid Offense on

I hate to bring an air of negativity to the board, but I was just sitting here thinking about how much I hate Lane Kiffin.

What college football coach do you hate most and why?

I'll go first:

-I'd never had any feelings towards Kiffin until he got fired from the Raiders after 2 horrible seasons, and he came off as a total fucking moron in his response on ESPN

-He took over at Tennessee (I was pissed at Tennessee for firing Fulmer)

-the numerous cocky-dickhead statements he made during the off season and recruiting violations at Tennessee

-ditching his team after 1 season

-going to USC (one of my most hated schools)

-allowing the Reggie Bush shit to go on when he was at USC as the OC

-he's just a dick head

a close 2nd for me is Mark Dantonio

I can't stand him. I cannot wait until we beat them again.

Short list of coaches I also don't like: Saban, Kiffin, Weis (I know hes gone but he was fun to hate), and Brady Hoke (just kidding).

Dantonio #1.  My favorite Dantonio moment?  Immediately after the fake field goal against ND when the field reporter grabs him as their running off the field....

Reporter: "That was a gutsy call coach!"

Dantonio: "Yes, that WAS a gutsy call."

Hooray for me.  What smug asshat.

My favorite Dantonio moment was close to the end of the 2007 game, when he started smiling as if they had already won the game.  Then Henne and Manningham proceeded to wipe that arrogant smirk off of his face and replace it with the permanent scowl that he now bares.  Another great Michigan moment.

Just because Carroll is now with the Seahawks does not get him off the hook.  That smug frat brah look on his face just made me want to punch things.

im one of the few that like Kiffin.. weird right? but i didn't know much about him until the Raiders fired him and i never liked the raiders owner (or the raiders in general.. Chargers fan. GO BOLTS! (same colors as Michigan too..+ 1 for them) ) but i liked how he wasn't afraid to call out coaches and was as 'hot buttoned' as he is, he reminded me of Bo in that way. He like made people think about the Tennessee program once again and re-kindled the flame with their rivals. I think he left a big positive with that program. Tennessee's name is in the mix now because of him i believe..

hey hey hey no need to call out names. I just meant like he made people think about the program again, its on peoples minds now. and when i referred to Bo, i was talking about how he didn't care to be "politically correct" like now and days. It seems like a lot of coaches are afraid to bash their rivals..like a prime example (and Im a RR fan for at least another year) is, i hate how he downplays our rival games to "its just another game" he's afraid to call it what is is and get everyone fired up and rowdy about it. Bo would try to slam them, Kiffin tried to also. Whether he was right or not he tried. so I was just saying, kinda like that about a coach.

He tried?  He went 7-6 in one year before leaving the Vols high and dry, and "Tennessee's name is in the mix now because of him?"

In the mix for what?  This is a team that went 383-151 (71.7%) under its four previous coaches.  And Kiffin put them back on the map?  Maybe you know something I don't; but I think Peyton Manning might have left a big positive.  Kiffin left a big mess.  They were 6-6 this year.

Why am I replying to you?  You are dum.

Yeah obviously he did, you, me, everyone is talking about UT now. i don't need a history lesson on Tennessee, thanks though buddy. but for a while their the program was falling off the map and were engulfed by the LSU's, Georgia's, and Florida's in the SEC and not talked about when they should be. and before you insult me and try to tell me that Im DUMB, why don't you learn how to spell it first.

I am not sure what you mean by falling off the map. In 2007 they went 10-4 and won the SEC East ending the season ranked #12 in both polls. Tennessee is still talked about a lot, just like everyone still talks about FSU and Miami. They have had a few down years, but it's still a very prestegious school that garners a lot of attention, sort of like our team.

Yeah the NCAA has taken notice of Tennessee as well, as their football program is under investigation by them, due to the Kiffin era.  And I know it is not just the football program that they are investigating, but the reason the football program is being investigated is directly due to Kiffin.  Believe me the people here in Knoxville would rather not be talked about because of Kiffin, it is a negative, no one wants to be in the news because of negative publicity!

Everyone is talking about Tennessee...Umm, not so much, everyone is talking about what an ass Kiffin is. We were only talking about Tennessee when we thought we'd be playing them in the Gator Bowl now, we're just talking about what a tool Kiffin is.

Just cause people are talking about them doesn't mean it's a good thing.

That's like saying Lee Harvey Oswald did a good thing by shooting Kennedy because afterwards everyone was talking about him.

Tennessee has received WAY more negative attention then positive ever since they falsely fired Fulmer.

I don't really mind Saban.  Sure there's the disloyalty thing, but he seems like the kind of guy who always thinks he should be doing better.  If I remember correctly, he didn't even smile after winning the MNC last year.

Agreed. I know I should hate the guy, but regardless of his shit attitude and sneaky persona, he is an excellent coach.

Personally, I CANNOT stand Urban Meyer. To me, he clung on to Tebow as if he [Tebow] was was the second coming. Annoying. Furthermore, his "retirement" fiasco last year did me in. Ugh.

Finally, although he isn't coaching college football anymore, I cannot stand Charlie Weis. Don't know what is was about the guy (besides coaching for ND) that I couldn't tolerate. Maybe it was the river of snot that constantly dripped down his nose during cold weather games, or his nasty sausage-like lips. Yuck.
