OT: More Michigan Exposure/Pride

Submitted by tdeshetler on

Outside of the love for Michigan sports, it really special to me when I see a T-shirt or hat outside of the norm.  I found this photo through a charity I support and thought it would be neat for others to see as well.  This is from a mission trip to Bolivia.

I always made it a point to donate and not trash my Michigan clothes first to help out the less fortunate, and secondly so situations like this can happen!

and the guy who delivered it had a Block M t-shirt on.  I said something to him about it and he said his brother bought it for him because his name starts with an M

sort of...  i had a pittsburgh pirates hat in hs/college because my last name starts with a P.  it was a nice fitted wool ballcap, until it was ruined when my roommate mistakenly ran it through the wash and shrunk it.

my favorite M hat for a long time was the one with brown suede bill and leather strap in the back.  now, i just wear my 14 year old fitted M ballcap, big M in front, little M in back.

I have been studying in Taipei, Taiwan for the past 6 weeks and oh how I miss Michigan. Taiwan is great but there is nothing like the bond that Michigan instills in everyone associated with UM. Well, I was missing home today and as I was getting of the subway, to people decked out in Michigan gear were getting on. I almost couldnt gather my words because I was so surprised, but I mustered up a GO BLUE!!! and they returned a GO BLUE!!! promptly. Then the subway car doors closed and I looked around and had attracted the attention of all 200 people in Taipei Main Station. Embarrassing? yes. But i loved seeing the Maize and Blue on the other side of the world!
