OT: MNF Open Thread

Just off the wire: Favre is inactive for first ever.

With the chaos that was the ticket giveaway at Ford Field, coupled with the Vikings poor performance as of late, Giants/Vikes may get ugly quickly. True attention should be paid to the Texans/Ravens game as Baltimore's defense has been quite short of intimidating while Houston hasn't moved the ball as effectively as they want. Huge playoff (for those from Michigan, those are the things after game 16) implications in both games, though...

In honor of Favre, though... play him away Piano Cat!

As a Giants fan I'm disappointed by this. I don't know what Jackson brings to the table but I know what Favre does and it doesn't scare me these days. I was lookng forward to his limping and picks.

Fuck the Ravens.

And fuck finals for not allowing me to work the game. MNF is the best game of the year. People hit happy hour early in the afternoon, show up in force to the tailgates to drink even heavier.

I seriously had a woman ask me where the stadium was while standing directly across the street, her looking at me with Reliant Stadium towering over my shoulders. After telling her, she tried to walk away, but her left foot never moved, causing her to walk in 3/4 of a circle. She ran into a guy and then asked him where the stadium was.

It was awesome.

Caught it on the way out. Stupid new editor is stupid. Easily fixed in the plain editor.

Good luck tonight gents. As for me, it's a night of exciting probability and statistics for engineers followed by construction management and finances!

When Brett Favre made his first start in this streak:

Prince Charles and Princess Diana were still together

Sinead O'Connor had not yet ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II on Saturday Night Live

Jay Leno had been host of the Tonight Show for about four months

Our football coach was Gary Moeller

A good portion of our current secondary were less than a year old...

I watched that vid of the cat, and thought about how dumb it was. Then I just saw it on a commerical during this game. Plus 1 to you sir! I still think it's dumb, but someone liked it enough to fly the cat and owner into a studio and pay them to shoot a commercial. Nice.

Did the Texan receivers all soak their gloves in butter before the game?

EDIT:  OMG ANDRE JOHNSON WOOOOO FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM SOMEONE MADE A CATCH

This is killing me. At least Andre got the touchdown. I started him and Boldin over Mason. So close to putting Mason in before the game just because he's going up against the Texans defense. Regretting putting him on the bench for Boldin... so far.

Shit ain't nothing. We've lost 5 games in the last 2 minutes this season, including 3 where we had the lead going into that. If we're not batting passes right into WR's hands on hail mary break ups, missing field goals, throwing a pick to set up a game winning touchdown, giving them the ball back with 40 seconds and 70 yards to score a winning TD with no time, or something more ridiculous, I'm numb.

for both games looks about the same. The Vikings are going to have a long trip back and they have stunk.

The Lions have not been on MNF since 2001. If the NFL looks at this game, they might not award another for 10 more years.
