OT: MNF Battle of the Backups open thread

Submitted by MikeCohodes on

So tonight is the epic MNF showdown that looked so good on paper a few weeks ago, the Bears @ the 49ers, but with both Alex Smith and Jay Cutler suffering concussions and missing tonight's game, this looks like it is going to be a defensive slugfest between two powerhouse Ds and two horrible offenses under the backup QBs.  If there are a lot of punts, this might wind up in the Bears favor with Hester liable to break one for a big return or even a TD if the Niners are foolish enough to punt to him.  But I'm thinking tonight's game is going to look a lot like the Bama-LSU game from 2011 (the regular season one) with a very low score.

I'm thinking Bears 13, 49ers 15, but with the backup QBs in, who knows?

As a Bears fan I'm embaresed by this performance. Three primetime games and 3 terrible games. With Jay out, it shows just how bad this team is and how much he makes up for the OL. I've been saying for 3+ years that the OL needs to be addressed and year after year nothing changes.

Also these coaches failed. This has been the worst gameplan I've seen in a long time. They did NOT prepare this team and it is showing tonight. Kapernick looks like the Vet and Campbell looks like a undrafted rookie who never threw a football in his life (Hanie? Is that you?) Pathetic.

horrible on offense and overrated overall.  You just can't count on generating that many turnovers on a consistent basis.  Total smoke and mirrors.

Coach Hoke is doing a great job and is the best for a stable, long term situation...but it is not hard to think about how fun it would have been if Harbaugh had taken the Michigan job.  It would be quite a bit more explosive and crazy, especially leading in to this weeks game.
