Thank the lord for that double play. I don't care if it's a Monday night, I have my cold Bud Light waiting if this game ends as it should. Don't happen often in the Motor City.

I have never seen a right hander hit a home run to right field by a right hander harder then Cabby hit that missle earlier. MVP IMO.

The Tigers suck, they're going to find some way to lose the division and not make the playoffs. Better pre-order your Chicago White Sox 2012 AL Central champs t-shirts now, cus they'll go quickly after Wednesday. Cabrera sucks, Fielder's a fat, good for nothing tub of lard, our starting pitching is grossly overrated, and our bullpen sucks. Hope you're ready for a long off season.

Does this still work?

I am really hoping the Tigers won't have to face the Rangers at any point this post season. I like our chances better versus any of the other teams

Miguel with a 4 hit performance. He might have sealed the batting crown tonight. Currently .006 ahead of Trout and .007 ahead of Mauer.

1 HR ahead of Hamilton, who has most of 1 game in hand.

Despite their best efforts to blow everything, the Tigers have made the playoffs. Even though the road didn't go as expected, it's a great feeling!

Who wants to bet Leyland cries in his post game interview?

Long, long summer of an emotional roller coaster but they played good baseball down the stretch and earned their back to back division titles. Take time to enjoy what Miguel Cabrera is doing because this has been a special, special year.

We're all behind our baseball team....

Go Get em Tigers!

World Series bound and picking up steam....

Go Get em Tigers

That's all I remember but back in 1968 I was 9 years old and that little ditty was played a LOT on WJR.

FWIW my #1 piece of sports memorabilia is a baseball signed by all the players and coaches from the 68 team.  My late father was a dentist in Pontiac and one of his patients was Jim Price (back up catcher).  He got the ball for my dad and my dad gave it to me.

this year. Not overly confident in their chances, but a top three of Verlander, Scherzer, Fister at least gives you a fighting chance in the playoffs.

Congrats, but as I'm a fan of that other Chicago baseball team, I'm not sure what you mean by pennant or October?

There is baseball beyond the regular season?

I thought there was only 162 exhibition games. It's baseball after all, a gentleman's game, and crowning a champion seems like something the peasants would do.

Tip of the hat regardless. Glad that other team from Chicago experienced no pleasure.

I remember last year around the fall someone posted about how the Michigan-Ohio State game of 1995 changed his outlook as a young man. I know most of the mgobloggers are married men, but it is amazing what this victory can do for your psyche, as a young man, as the rest of the fall plays out. Anyone who says sports are just a game - talk to me after the Ohio State game.
