Last December, Nixon suggested Missouri should consider joining the Big Ten because it had stronger academics than some Big 12 schools. That invitation never came.

Everyone knows the expansion process was based soley on basketball. Kansas simply had its choice of homes, but decided the Big12 was the best. ROFL

The football side suffered a big hit in terms of competitiveness and they lost the large TV market of Denver and the National appeal of NU, however everything is simply great in the big12 now. Better even bc they are now the best basketball conferance and making more money then ever.

I was wondering that, too. How is the former BigXII going to make MORE money, with it being sent to all the member schools, having lost two of the marquee members? It's a commonly known point that the Texas Network proceeds will go only to UT. (Can't wait to see how Comcast bundles THAT!) Is there a demand from the Great Lakes region for Big XII programming? Or anywhere else in the nation? Do those schools have (member institution cumulative) millions of alums spread across the country? Even if ABC/ESPN promised a bunch of money to the Big XII, how much was Texas going to take first? Crazy.

Poor bastard. They wanted desperately to be invited to the party with all of the other popular kids. You weren't allowed in so you told everybody that you didn't want to go anyway.

If Missouri ever gets into the Big Ten I want Delaney to make it a prerequisite that the governor has to do the truffle shuffle.
