And who ever said being a UM alum is not a financially profitable venture???  Old Les is making a killing off of being a Wolverine.  Wow!!!  7 year extension...

Here's my conspiracy theory if, in fact, Brandon knew all along that he was going to hire Hoke:

Brandon met with Ross in order to help his chances of getting Harbaugh.  When that failed, Brandon met with Harbaugh to help him sign a more lucrative NFL contract and give friendly advice.  When that was finalized, Brandon met with Miles in order to help him get a better deal from LSU.

Obviously not likely, but fun to think about nonetheless.

Sounds reasonable.  Here's mine.

Mary Sue told DB that Rich had to go and she wanted this Hoke guy to replace him.  Brandon said "But Mary, people will go ape shit crazy if we hire a guy whose coaching resume is a wafer thin as Brady's."  So she said "I don't care....if you like your job you'll do as I say".

So DB makes it seem like he's trying to find big names all the while knowing he has to hire Hoke cause that's who his boss demanded he hire.

of grazing rights.  As I understand it, Miles extend his grazing acerage all the way to the Alabama border.  His former contract only allowed him to go as far east as New Orleans.  so, this is a big deal for Les.

... what a grass-eating, timeout-wasting, hen-pecked suffering, Bo wanna-be.

He and Harbaugh owe Michigan A LOT.  Neither apparently have the courage or conviction to lead a team out of the tunnel in the Big House.

Harbaugh: over/under with the 49ers is 3.5 years.  Then becomes QB coach for his big brother with the Ravens.

Miles: over/under for completing the new contract: 4.5 years.  Then retires to the home he bought on the Huron River in 2007.  Becomes macrobiotic vegan, eating native grasses while MgoCanoers paddle by and yell "Fourth and Eight: Go For It!"

Hoke: over/under as Michigan HC.  15 years.  The MgoBlog servers are safe for a long time.

It seems he's one mediocre season from getting canned down there, so is extracting another raise the right move?

Unless DB rejected him and not the other way around (which is a possibility), Miles could wind up unemployed within a couple years when he could have been at Michigan with full support.
