OT: Mike Leach
You just gotta love Mike Leach. Is A&M that bad, really? I saw them once this year. Their QB is amazing.
A&M is a top 10 offensive team this year. Their defense isn't very good, and their OL is young. They are kind of sporadic on which version of the Aggies show up. That said, even on their best day, I don't see them beating Tech by 3 TD's.
A&M got beat by KState something like 62-14. That was Leach's issue. Tech beat KState by 50, then KState beat A&M by 50, so he thought his players didnt take A&M seriously.
Tech lost to A&M, something like 52-30. The problem was, as usual, Mike Leach had counted on winning, 62-52. Mike Leach regards a 52-30 loss as an "offensive breakdown." I love that, in the age of RR.
A&M's defense is a little similar to Michigan's. They have one great DE (Von Miller) and the next best player is a DB (safety Trent Hunter). Michigan's D-Line is a little better than A&M's, and the LBs are better too (hard to believe, but such is life).
A&M's biggest problem is the number of true freshman that are playing on both sides of the ball. By my count, 10(!) true freshman have either started or spent significant portions of games playing with the first unit. On the two-deep, 4 of the 8 players in the secondary are true freshman, as are 4 of the 8 LBs. Two freshman OL and 4 freshman WRs have seen significant time this year as well. I think that has a lot to do with what happened up in Manhattan. They turned the ball over enough early to dig themselves a hole and the young players didn't know how to handle it. In the end they puckered up, Sparty style.
The amazing thing about the A&M offense is that they are putting up huge numbers despite their most talented player, WR Jeffrey Fuller, having been hurt most of the year. True freshman WR Uzoma Nwachuku (I may or may not have spelled that correctly) has been amazing and should be a fixture for a long time.
Can you imagine Mike Leach and Bob Knight at one time coaching at the same school?
Well that's not gonna do wonders for recruiting!
Leach's attitude, or the fact that TTU players have fat little girlfriends?
I firmly believe that "no fat chicks" should be the rule, whether you are Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Texas-El Paso, or Texas Christian.
Okay? That is all. I thank y'all fir yer attention.
The fat little girlfriends, of course.
