OT-Mike Blakely to transfer from Florida
Since there's not a lot going on today...
Apparently, 2011 Freshman RB Mike Blakely is going to be transferring from Florida. He enrolled early at Florida and today Florida released a statement saying he was leaving the program. Seems kinda strange to me considering he's only been there a few months, he's from FL, and was ranked #10 by Scout coming in this year for RB's. This is all according to The Ringer, and he still has to sit out a year even though he's technically not played.
I sorta wish this wasn't OT.
It's more a grey area I believe...
Anyways, it just makes me wonder why this happened so quickly. He got one spring and was done. Was he buried on the depth chart, did he not like Muschamp and staff?
Doesn't think he'll fit in a pro-style offense.
The third time his OC tried to eat him was enough.
Miss you big guy XOXO
4 Imaginary National Championships and 1-2 against Michigan.
well if he was going to redshirt anyway, probably not a big deal to sit out a year.
Hell of a career he had as a Florida Gator.
Didn't see any mention of this previously on site (apologies if it's been discussed), but Miami is bringing in another transfer QB, from Memphis, and Al Golden seems to be really excited about the kid.
Our boy Tate will have competition down there as well, and may never find the field...
Does this mystery QB have a name?
Ryan Williams. Actually had a decent frosh year with 2,075 yards and 13 touchdown. Al Golden will take anyone from anywhere at anytime it seems.
for high school players, transfers ONLY!
QB'd Miramar to the Florida State HS Championship in 2009. He will be tuff competition for Tater.
I said this before this most recent transfer, but I think that the decision to go to Miami was a bad one.
at QB. Stephen Morris seems to be the favorite to win the starting QB job since Jacory Harris has been erratic.
Heard that Tate was rejected by Miami or something
Ryan Williams. He's from the Miramar, Florida area..
Beat me to the response.. So disregard & move along :)
He was at a decidedly schematic disadvantage when asked to learn playcalls such as these:
Lard-x-z-donuts-P-trey-counter-Huge-a-z-z etc.
When it comes to program implosions, the only thing as enjoyable as watching tsio go down in flames would be to watch YTM get busted for player tampering (if there is such a thing).
Orson has the money quote from Blakely:
It's hot. I'm from Bradenton, but at least we get a breeze there, you know? This feels like you're living in Satan's crotchpit, and it's only May. Also, I can't stand live oaks. They're the homeless man of trees. Just look at 'em. All raggedy and shit. WE OUT.
I have a house in Bradenton and hoped he would come to Michigan, but it did not happen. Blake is a hell of a good player and good person. Made me kinda wonder why he would leave so soon. Best of luck to him.
WOW! I would never have expected Blake to say something like that.....One of the best kids that i have seen and spoke with.
I really wanted Blakely when he was being recruited. Maybe we can convince him that we're running the spread.
and convince him that it's the same thing as this year
He cited lack of family values.
