OT- Miguel (not that Miguel) kicks fan in head at Billboard Music Awards

Submitted by Bill the Butcher on

Title pretty much says it all.

I'm not sure how many people saw this video yet (does anyone actually watch the Billboard awards?), but I died laughing when I saw the video this morning and thought I would share it with the masses.

Also this guy's commentary on the video is great.

BOO KOO!

I have no clue who the F Miguel is. I assumed this would be a gif of Miguel Cabrera doing something funny after his big night last night interwoven with the stale awards show Lsufreak style.

After viewing it again, Vince McMahon should give this clown a call as that was a sweet finisher.

Just shows what celebrities can get away with in our culture.  Not only does that old hag blonde woman ignore the injured ladies, she gives the Miguel fool a hug!  Idiocy at its finest.  If anyone other than, 1. a celebrity, 2. a politician had done something like this, they'd be in big trouble.  But for a celebrity, no way.  Wake up sheeple.

Pretty sure they're not going to get away with anything. If that girl has any sense left shell be suing both Miguel (who?) and the billboard awards. If she can prove that stunt was rehearsed then whoever put on the show will probably be liable. I'm sure the idiots practiced that stunt without any people standing there. A lot easier to do when you're not clearing a 5'6" crowd.

I can't believe anyone watches this shit anymore.

loop...I opened this thread expecting to read/see Cabrera kicking some random fan in the face for spouting off on why he didn't hit 4 homers last night.

Well, her favorite songs right now are "London Bridges", "Frosty the Snowman", and "Old MacDonald's Farm".  Still, when the time comes I'll make sure to expose her to all kinds of eras of music, but I'm not naive enough to think I'll be more influential than her peer group in this matter.

Did he land on her head? That jackass could have broken that girls neck. It did look (based on the reactions of nearby people) like someone got hurt, but that no one really gave a shit.

But the artist known as Miguel (not that Miguel) sure put a hurtin' on those two girls. One was a face shot, and then  hugs the fat bleach-blonde tramp to celebrate.

Miguel is a Grammy award-winning R&B artist, probably the best of his generation. He's best known for his songs "Adorn" (Grammy for best R&B song) and "Sure Thing." Has a flair for the dramatic...he doesn't quite have Sam McGuffie hurdling skills, but he is one of the best talents we have in music today. This video makes me laugh and laugh.

Not quite sure if you are being sarcastic or serious......

Billboard Awards and MTV Awards, in particular, are a total joke. Grammy Awards are slightly better, in that they at least recognize artists from other genres like classical, latin, jazz, etc., but are not much better in recognizing rock/folk/alternative talent in the US (especially as of late). I tend to listen to college radio stations and peruse youtube to discover new artists. MTV (AKA Reality Show Television which, instead of music, focuses on shows about pregnant teenagers, hillbillies from WV, and other gems like Jackass) and the likes, and most of the mainstream music industry manufacturs/promotes "perfomers" whose target audience are the masses of teenie boppers, and whose song writing (if any at all) consists of, maybe, some lyrics and a few chords (if that) with the producer essentially doing most of the song writing/manufacturing, and seldom promotes actual musicians.

Seldom do you see extremely talented musicians, most of whom write and produce their own stuff, like Joe Purdy, Avett Brothers, Blackmore's Night, Deer Tick, Gavin Clark, Okkervile River, The Dimes, Patrick Watson, Raveonettes, The Felice Brothers, Crystal Stilts, the Tallest Man on Earth, Flowers From the Man Who Shot Your Cousin, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Elliot Smith, Smith Westerns, Patty Griffin, Neutral Milk Hotel, Josh Ritter, Amos Lee, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Belle and Sebastian, Sarah Tavares, Greg Laswell, etc. (I can go on and on) getting much recognition outside of indie music radio stations. Sure they get some publicity but you don't see the record labels pulling all the stops on an artist like Amos Lee, who is incredibly talented, writes all of his musics, and his music has an incredible range from pure soul, to country, to folk, to rock.

Sure some bands like The Decemberists, Iron & Wine, Black Keys, MGMT, Moby, The National, The Swell Season, Radiohead, eventually get backed and promoted but, I would say, they are the exception to the rule, and many talented musicians get left by the side of the road for the likes of Bieber and Taylor Swift (whose songs, at least the ones that I have listened to, all sound the same). I guess I can't completely blame the music industry, in that it is a business and so it puts out what sells and what gets the ratings. The junior high schoolers and high schoolers make up a large percentage of the revenue stream and they like shows about teenage moms and listen to the likes of Bieber. You give the public what it wants and, unfortuntately, the public that matters these days, that spends $$$, tends to be from that demographic and therefore it dictates what gets promoted, which is mostly manufactured pop, poppy R&B, and rap. When was the last time you saw a video of Norah Jones or Regina Spektor on MTV?

You look at 60s and 70s, and the range of music that was in the mainstream, and the abundance of talented musicians - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, CCR, Hendrix, Clapton, Simon & Garfunkel, Otis Redding, Nina Simone,  JIm Croce, Dylan, Stones, Beatles, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Nick Drake, Skynyrd, johnny Cash, The Stooges, Ramones, The Byrds, The Band, Elvis, The Clash, Velvet Underground, Van Morrison, The Who, Queen, David Bowie.....I can go and on - and it makes me wonder what the heck happened. It is true that a lot of Motown hits were, more or less, manufactured but at least the talent at Motown, that was performing those songs, was extraordinary. You can't compare the talent of Motown's singers to the Bieber, or worse yet a hack like Nicki Minaj....vommit.

What is odd is if you read any media on this incident, including this dude’s tweets, they imply he only crushed one girl when in fact he destroyed two.  The media and the tweets focus on the one to the left he leg dropped, who’s skull got smashed to the floor, but if you ask me, the one on the right who goes unmentioned is the one who got the worse end of it by taking the heal of his pointy boot right on the head, and then having her own head smashed to the floor.    Gruesome.   Odd everyone only sees one girl getting housed, when in fact he destroyed two.

If your lady likes R-&-B, then you'll definitely want "Adorn" on the playlist. Up-and-coming singer who writes and produces his own music (fairly rare in r-&-b), but he definitely needs to work on the vert.

I'm here for the "I had no idea who this guy was" party. I haven't heard any of his music, so I won't sit here and rant about how it sucks, but I was sincerely confused last night when I kept reading about this Miguel on Twitter, especially considering Detroit's Miggy went yard three times. I thought there was some meme or joke I wasn't getting. I also had no idea that the Billboard Music Awards was a thing, so there's that too.
