OT - Migos Have the #1 Song on Billboard
I rarely contribute to nonsense OT season but since both football and basketball seasons are over... Migos have the #1 song on Billboard. I remember a youthful energy football coach launching them into the mainstream. Everything he touches turns to gold....

T-Shirt is better than Bad & Boujee...but I mean Migos was pretty hot before they got in contact with coach, they came up with the dab.
I hope they're back at Signing of the Stars this year, rocking their Block M suits.

I love it when new accounts act like total fucking fools.
January 14th, 2017 at 10:57 AM ^
im acting so foolish
January 14th, 2017 at 9:55 AM ^
This song does suck, very badly, 90's & early 2000's rap was way better imo.
January 14th, 2017 at 10:08 AM ^
Ya I think this new era of rap is horrible. Plus I'm 30 now so that might have something to do with it.

Atlanta rap is pretty awful, only good for parties and clubs. There are definitely artists who make some quality music. Everything Kendrick Lamar touches turns to gold, Run the Jewels release upbeat rap that still has some semblance of a message.
Same as the Bee Gees haven't aged as well as the rock music coming from the 70s, the popular rap coming from this era won't be the music remebered in 20 years.
January 14th, 2017 at 11:23 AM ^
It's almost as if everybody thinks the time in which they grew up was the best, and everything since has been going downhill.
January 14th, 2017 at 11:37 AM ^
But respect your opinion. 90's hip hop is still my favorite era, but bad and boujee is a pretty good song. Only verse I don't really like is Lil Uzi Vert's on there. The rest is just really catchy, hence the popularity.

bad meaning bad or bad meaning good?

Rap has been dead for about 7 years now!
January 14th, 2017 at 9:36 AM ^
Someone is pining for the halcyon days of "Empire State of Mind"
January 14th, 2017 at 9:46 AM ^
its been mostly dead since eminem lost "it" and lil wayne drank too much purple. There have been sparks but as soon as artists go mainstream it goes to garbage(Looking at you Kendrick). Underground hip hop still has some good in it but I dont have time to search that out.

and listen to Brother Ali,
R.A The Rugged Man, Grieves, and Atmosphere

I enjoyed that as an angsty middle schooler

Too many gems out of these artists. The Travelers, Forest Whitiker, Sunshine, Light speed, Yesterday, Sunny side of hell, but suit yourself. :)

brother ali and atmosphere have been around for awhile. Never heard of the others
I am a fan of donald glover in general but was first introduced to him as childish gambino. Still havent listened to his new album yet but thats first on the what to listen to next.
January 14th, 2017 at 11:05 AM ^
If you enjoyed gambino's rap efforts in the past, you're gonna be surprised by latest album. Way more reminiscent of 70s era p-funk. A very good album that gambino put out, just very different

Tyler the Creator may be kinds repetitive, but a few of his songs are good to angry work out to.
January 14th, 2017 at 11:21 AM ^
The Grouch, Chali 2na, Blackalicious, I mean most of these are a little older. Not gonna lie, I kinda like Lil Dicky. RTJ3 is also just fucking phenomenal. That's really new.

Young Thug
No Name
A lot of people like Childish Gambino, and I do like his new album.
Many I am forgetting.

"and lil Wayne drank too much purple"
Lil Wayne was never good. Great beats and production, god awful rapping
January 14th, 2017 at 1:33 PM ^
You sir are wrong.
Da drought 3 is the greatest mixtape I have ever listened to. If you listen to that and say Wayne is "god awful" at rapping then you don't know rap
January 14th, 2017 at 9:50 AM ^
Wow you've given it a boost in the arm if you think it's only been 7 years!

Have I hit Country Song Bingo yet?
January 14th, 2017 at 11:07 AM ^
No you've hit modern pop-with-a-southern-accent bingo. Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, etc. are not country, they just know some buzzwords. Real country hasn't been around in a long time. Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, George Jones - that's country.
January 14th, 2017 at 11:24 AM ^
Haha no. You didn't even mention liquor, harvesters, or boys being boys. That's a lot of it too.

Migos is The Beatles of our time.
January 14th, 2017 at 9:32 AM ^
Yeah, he is the song bird of my generation. His voice, it's like a combination of Fergie and Jesus.
January 14th, 2017 at 12:03 PM ^
not commenting on quality of the Migos, but to compare any group to one who sold OVER 2.3 BILLION ALBUMS is pretty silly.
January 14th, 2017 at 12:48 PM ^
He was clearly being silly, himself.
Also the Beatles are vastly overrated.
January 14th, 2017 at 1:25 PM ^
Donald Glover made that comparison when he won an award on Sunday. That he said that and that Harbaugh went to their concert one time is my full extent of knowledge about Migos.

Blank Beatles?

I listened to that whole top ten out of curiousity. Man.
Gotta give the Weeknd credit though. He's got the ultimate strip club anthem voice and he USES it.
