OT - Michigan Football Wings

Submitted by GOBLUE4EVR on

Looking for some help from the board on this one. My twins had to be fitted for helmets because of having flat spots on the back of their heads. I made sure my son Kaiden got a blue one (Its royal blue, it was the darkest blue they had) with the hopes of putting the Michigan Football Wings on it. I have the yellow vinyl to do this, but I run into a road block when trying to find a template that I can use for the wings. Does anyone out there know where I can find a template that I can use?

The Michigan football helmet is, in fact, maize. The shape of the wings is masked off, and then over-painted with blue. Jon Falk explains it all here:

So, what you need to do is to get rid of the blue helmets, get some maize ones instead, use the decals as templates to mask them off, and then paint them blue, wait for it to dry, peel off the decals......

Don't thank me all at once.

This idea is awesome!  Once you get it finished it would be great if you could update the thread with a photo.  I'm sure everyone would love to see the first photo of a future 5-star recruit :-)

Something like the pink trimmed hats the team wears during Breast Cancer Awareness month?

Please do post pictures! Hope it all works out well for your kids.

to give an update on this... I have not had time to make the wings yet and then on top of it my son might have to get a new helmet since he has pretty much already out grew his current one. So I don't want to make the wings and then have to do it again if he has to get a new helmet...

Do we have an update on this?  I wanted to buy the decals and use them for a retro motorcycle helmet (got a Vespa this summer).  If the decals work well I'll buy it also...
