Hey guys, I hate to make a personal army request, but a friend of mine and a UM student is in an online polling contest for a sponsorship by Taylor Acoustic Guitars and Elixir Strings. He's currently in sixth place and needs to be at least fifth place to qualify. However, today is the last day of voting (you can vote once per day per email address), so I'm here to call on the mighty e-power of the blog to help get him up into the top 5 before today is over. If he makes it through, I'm almost certain I could convince him to write a song about MGoBlog (many of his songs are already about UM/Ann Arbor or the area). Anyways, the voting link is here:

You could've voted for Kodos, although in this instance Kodos appears to be pro-Blue. Regardless, I voted for his buddy....so no worries
for each of my three e-mail addresses.
Pretty good job they do with vote validating, but nothing they can do to stop a guy with a regular address, a junk address, and a school address!
directory.umich.edu helps out with this kind of thing a lot. Create tons of groups with only you as a member and all of a sudden you can vote for as long as you have the patience.
Nothing like MGoBloggers overrunning votes and polls!

Getting him into the top 5 does not appear to be relevant. From the site:
Once the first round of voting ends, the Artist Relations teams from Taylor Guitars and Elixir Strings will choose FIVE final artists from the Top 50 to be outfitted with Taylor 300 or 400 Series Grand Auditorium acoustic guitars, a supply of Elixir Strings, and Elixir® Cables.
These final artists will be challenged to play music with their new gear and create a short video that showcases how they used their new gear. The videos will be posted here for a second round of voting starting on August 10th.
It looks like they choose the five qualifiers.
From what I've heard, it's the top 5 that are chosen. Anyways, thanks to the power of the blog he's catapaulted to fourth place! Keep it up and thanks those that have already voted.
If he's chosen, a mgoblog anthem is guaransheed.
I thought that one of the main no-nos here was no politics.

As an update, he finished in third place. Hopefully that means he'll be one of the five selected to move on to the next round, thanks for all the help! I'll post again later when I have more details on the next round and his mgoblog anthem.
