OT: MGoHollywood (Jarrod Bunch)

Submitted by Jasper on

In case anyone is in the mood for a quick topic change, I had an '80s Michigan football flashback a couple of hours ago. I saw Django Unchained (generally recommended, btw) and, afterward, stayed with a friend to watch the credits roll.

Among the ocean of names was Jarrod Bunch. It took me a second to make the football association, then I remembered that he was doing the Hollywood thing. In this movie he was "Banjo" (uncredited). Here's his IMDB page:

Gabrielle is indeed scrumptious, but from what I've heard, she's not the nicest person, and is pretty damned abrasive towards opposing players and fans while attending Heat games, and which has resulted in D-Wade earning verbal and physical shots because he can't and I quote "keep his bitch in check."

As a minor sidenote, David Cone - at the age of 12, mind you - was an extra in "The Legend Of Bagger Vance", as I recall. Actually, a few players - David Moosman, Mario Manningham and Jamar Adams, among others in the last several years - have also shown off their performance skills at the Power Center at various points. Not sure if anything will come of their performances, but I have seen a few of them and we do produce some great players who can also act.

I'm glad you liked the Django,  it was the best time I had filming a movie, make sure to get the directors cut when the dvd comes out... a lot of scenes that I'm in are left in. I shot for 6 weeks in New Orleans.

I've been acting, and in the entertainment industry since I retired from the NFL in 1995.... Besides http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0120349/ please visit my personal website to see what I'm up to, or visit www.Jarrodbunch.com and follow me on.... twitter #jarrodbunch. GO BLUE!

I live in LA and work in the entertainment industry.  I worked in casting for the last 4+ years and I had the pleasure of running into Jarrod every once in a while at the casting studio I worked at.  I would wear a Michigan hat or shirt a lot and he would always stop to talk to me about Michigan sports.  He is a real class act and a genuinely nice guy and its great to see him succeeding.  He is only hitting the surface of his potential and I really think he will have a great acting career.  Go Blue!

Just saw Django Unchained.  was watching the credits roll, missed quite a few, but by chance saw Jarrod Bunch's name come up.  I thought hey... how many Jarrod Bunch's can there be?  Googled it and IMDB came up confirming it's Michigan's J.B.

Way to go Jarrod!  Good luck to you and your acting career.  Pretty cool to see you get the last face shot of the movie.  Yep, I'm going with the naive belief that you did in fact post a response back in March of 2013... after all, the link was legit.

I went to quite a few games back in the day when you played.  You and Leroy were thunder and thunder in the biggest, most athletic backfield I can remember in Ann Arbor.

Peace!  This time break a leg in the Hollywood kind of way.
