OT: MGoEarworms - Songs that get stuck in your head

Submitted by The Mad Hatter on

In this thread we torture our fellow MGoBloggers.

Ever since the Mad Men finale I've had "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" on 24 hour replay.

Although, that pushed out the theme song from Thomas & Friends, so I suppose I should be thankful.

Two Headed Boy parts 1 and 2 by Neutral Milk Hotel get stuck in my head a lot. In fact that whole album gets stuck in my head a lot.

Also Getting Naked and playing with guns by Andrew Jackson Jihad. Pretty much the whole Christmas Island album gets burned in my brain.

Also Car by built to spill.

It's all there in the user name Hatter: "Darker Blue"... as in a "cool" dark place! If he/she named a song more than 1% of Mgousers had heard THAT would torture Darker's soul ;)

So how about these: "Don't You Want Me Baby", "Tainted Love", 'Love Cats"... all of which goes to show that 30+ years ago I thought I was pretty cool!

Time takes it's toll on all men... Valor Morghulis

by Iggy Azelea.  My kids introduced that to me last summer and now whenever they play it I have to go to a sensory deprivation tank to clear my head.

Yeah, it's a weird one. I love to see and hear it right after the championship game. Today however, I woke up with it playing through my head, and it occured to me that this is a cheesy song in May...

I purposely go to bed immediately after the title game is over so as not to subject myself to that "song". The dude who wrote that song lives right off Stadium Blvd. in A2. He also penned a ballad to help the "Save Argo Pond" movement.

Just heard that on the Pandora and I know I'll be singing that for the rest of the day, la-la-laaaa, BIGMOUTH! La-di-da,...

I second Taylor Swift.

Every time my daughter played that torture it was so catchy and cute that it just got wedged in there.

I seriously considered taking her stereo.

Okay, not really.  But, I did institute parental volume control standards.
